Kontrol S2 MK2 + latest Traktor dj 2 iOS?

Hey guys!

I have a weird question

I want to buy Kontrol S2 mk2, yes, mk2, not the latest mk3

I had the mk3 but I like the finish and the look of the mk2 more.

I want to use the mk2 with an iPad and traktor dj 2 the latest version. Will it work?

    Nah, man. I think it's dead in the water.

    Last feature update was april 2020. Three and a half years ago. Click on "version history" here https://apps.apple.com/us/app/traktor-dj-2/id1319355657

    I also see no indication that they are going to start development up again. They barely keep Traktor Pro 3 afloat.

    Never tried it myself, but for iPad I think Algoriddim Djay might be one of the better aps out there. Even got decent stem separation. Lots of hardware support. S2 MK3 works out of the box, the mk2 you probably have to midi map yourself.

    But Traktor DJ 2 is free, so might use that if it got everything you need. Just have a backup plan ready.

    Looks like it should work:

    The TRAKTOR KONTROL S2 MK2, TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 MK2, TRAKTOR KONTROL S2 MK3, TRAKTOR KONTROL S3, TRAKTOR KONTROL Z1, TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK2, and any other audio interface will be supported. 

    But are you sure you want to start using an app that does not get developed any more?

    At some point it probably stops working because of iOS updates. Going to be a hassle to rebuild cue points and playlist in other software again.

    what do you mean by app not developed any more?

    traktor dj 2 is being developed regularly no?
