Hi, I built a Mainstage project on my Mac where I'm using many instances of Kontakt 6, is there an easiest way to switch / convert all the instances to Kontakt 7 without having to re-choosing the sound for each one ?

Thanks for help

Hi @Daniquito auto migration from Kontakt 6 to 7 is possible, but only with Cubase, Nuendo and Logic Pro. Please see more info here:

Notes about Auto-Migration of Kontakt Versions in DAW Projects

If you're not using any of these DAWs, unfortunately the process is pretty manual..

    1. Open the project
    2. Locate a channel which has Kontakt 6. Note down the instrument.
    3. Delete the instance of Kontakt 6
    4. Load Kontakt 7 on the channel
    5. Open the same instrument within Kontakt 7

Sorry for not being of very much help here :

I am not sure if what you want can be done (?)(since it is a Mainstage project and I simply do not know any of that) or if what you want/need is the 'Batch Resave' ?  But if you Batch Resave then make sure to backup your files first because once converted then they can not be used by old version..

    Quote :

    Important:

In case you need to open the Library with an older KONTAKT version, use this older version of KONTAKT for the Batch re-save process. If you batch re-save a Library with e.g. KONTAKT 7, it will no longer load in KONTAKT 6, KONTAKT 5, etc.

Batch re-save should only be used on single Libraries. It is not recommended to batch re-save an entire disk or directory of Libraries.

If Batch Resave is what you need then I found these for you :

    How to Batch re-save a KONTAKT Library  : https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210274985-How-to-Batch-re-save-a-KONTAKT-Library

Also found this two page discussion about Kontakt 5 to 6 but not sure at all if it applies to Kontakt 6-7 and if it has any relevance to Mainstage at all !?

    Not exactly what I want.

Sorry maybe I was not clear enough, I would like to replace all my instances on Kontakt 6 (at least 20 on different tracks) by Kontakt 7 without needing to change the presets I have chosen for V6.

    Hope it's more clear :)

    "Note down the instrument".

You mean you cannot export the instrument in K6 and reimport it to K7?

Wow, if it's confirmed this is pretty much a mean way to manage a transition like that - transition that is also forced since the libraries are getting updated "in place"…
