How to start and stop the output from a sound generator in Kontakt 6

Taking the pictured generator as an example, when I select any sound it just starts playing and I can't see any way to stop (and re-start it again). My midi controller works fine with most of the synths by the way. Help!

Sorry folks, but to keep going in the same vein, when trying the samplers, I get the same issue and another.

There are 5 on offer (see screenshot).

BeatSlicer works fine, Grainstates SP starts by itself and then continues indefinitely, Lurker and MemoryDrum 2 do not respond to incoming midi at all, whilst Travelizer also works fine. Shouldn't they all behave the same?

Seems I can't edit a previous post. Just to say that this concerns Reaktor 6 and not Kontakt 6!

Yeah, some ensembles just generate sound. Some are synths, some are sequenced synths.

Sequenced synths, you would start/stop the sequencer, with its own controls, or the Reaktor transport. Synths, you would use a keyboard to play it. Sound generators, generate sounds...

You could easily create an instrument that has an on off gate, or VCA type of thing, then send the sound generator through that...

Or stick it on a track in your DAW, and automate the volume?

    ---------------------------

They don't all behave the same, they were built by different people with different motivations for different purposes. That's the beauty of Reaktor, you can make things work exactly how you want them to work, there are no rules!

    Thanks, Man. That explains it.
