Headphone cueing on X1 mk3

I've come to Traktor from Serato as I want a small high quality controller. The X1 does everything I want and is great except I cannot get the headphone cueing to work despite pressing the headphone buttons on the X1 adjusting the headphone and mix levels in PRO 3. I've hooked up to a couple of different soundcards but only hear the master out via their headphone sockets.

Help please

Can we see a screenshot of your audio settings?

    Both `Audio Setup` but also `Output routing`

    Yeah there is your problem.

    • You need to connect a soundcard with 4 channels (2x stereo)
    • Select that soundcard under "Audio Setup" -> "Audio device"
    • In "Output Routing" choose the two channels for master, and two channels for cue under monitor.

Excellent, thank you so much for your help. What soundcard would you recommend?

    Xone 96 :P

Jokes aside, soundcards are not my area of expertise.

What did you use with serato? None of your soundcards have 2 outputs?

All my Serato gear has it all built in so never an issue. I wanted the X1 for size and sound quality and putting in carry on board luggage when I travel abroad to gigs. I teamed it with a Soundcraft notepad5 via USB as again it is very small and offers good sound quality and XLR master outputs. So sounds like I need to put a soundcard between them. I just don't want to purchase the wrong item.

While you search for a new audio interface, you can connect one of your old Serato controllers and connect headphones and speakers to it. Just for the audio I mean. Use the X1 to control Traktor.

If you want something simple, small and cheap you can try to find an traktor audio 2 on the used market. You can sometimes find them for under 50 EUR.

What I use with my X1 (mk2) is the Z1 mixer. Both of them with decksaver cover, still small and I can throw it into a carry on backpack. I would dislike having to switch between mixer and fx mode on the x1 mk3 :S

Is the Audio 2 4 channel x2 stereo?
