Hi guys,

sorry to bother you with my personal health problem.

Because of my eye disease( since the last 2 years) i have problems to read text when there is not much contrast between font and background.

It‘s very hard for me to read the non active buttons.

I have no problems to read the active bright buttons.

i‘ve set the brightness of the controller to 100% and use it with the AC adapter.

It would be great if there was an option to brighten up the non active buttons.

Example, if you press duplicate button the scene and pattern buttons brighten up to what 80% ?

So if the non active buttons would be nearly as bright as those buttons it would help me a lot!

Maybe there is a hidden preference file or anything like this that could be changed…

have you tried a magnifying screen??

it would require you to be positioned correctly everytime, with the viewing angles.

unsure if there is any contrast levels on the mk3 unit??...

which can be found in midi mode for the maschine mk2, dont know if its the same with the mk3... whether it changes back or not... is another thing when putting it back into maschine mode

    Hi,

    thx for your tip.

Well It’s not that much the font size that makes it hard for me to read but the low contrast..

    a magnifier won‘t help much.

In Midi mode every button text is bright enough to read for me but nothing to be changed.

i wrote an email to NI support but havn’t heard back yet.

If there is no solution i might go for a custom Overlay from styleflip.com and print a text next to each button.

im suprised there is no contrast whilst in Midi mode...

the contrast button on the Maschine MK2 is found by holding the shift within the settings.... unsure if there is one on the Maschine MK3... as i dont own one

another consideration is having a look at the maschine MK2 & possibly downgrade... but you would need to weigh it up, and see if the screen will be suitable for your eye condition

looking at this link reveals the adjustments that can be done on the maschine mk2 unit versus the mk3

which is basically the equivalent to what i can adjust on the hardware of the mk2 unit... and going by the mk3 it shows it doesnt have a contrast.. *shrugs

The brightness in Midi Mode is fine. That’s what i would like to have in Maschine Mode.

I would say it’s 80 percent of the max lvl.

Got a response from the support team that let me hope that a brighten function could be added to the next update .

    We will see.

This will sound unrelated but what’s your OS, Mac or Windows?
