So it looks like the kontrol s61 mk3 is coming out. £750, Standalone? Looks like a single screen in the centre so maybe touchscreen? Notice the circle motif, that was also on the thumbnail of the latest maschine expansion. Do we think they'll be a new standalone maschine too? I'm was about to buy a maschine plus but this has made me want to wait. Any hint N.I?

Where did you get that screenshot from? A retailer?

I was looking for deals on a Maschine plus and this came up on Google. It was linked to the native instruments site but when you click the link it just goes to the normal homepage. Shame I didn't see a new Maschine+ though, I'm really torn on buying one now.

Thinking about it and looking at the prices of the older models, £750 is maybe too cheap to be standalone for a 61 key keyboard? On the circle motif, i wonder if that's a representation of getting all the hardware and software to integrate together better? I vaguely remember them talking about wanting that a few years ago.

Shame I didn't see a new Maschine+ though, I'm really torn on buying one now.

KK-Series MK2 was released in 2017 and the Maschine+ in 2020, releasing a new M+ one so soon would be unlikely.. But I am not confirming or denying anything, just providing some info, the best advice I am allowed to give is to wait a bit and see what happens.

Cheers man. Yeah I also thought they probably won't release two things that close together....... but, you never know. I'll wait a little while.

A lot fewer buttons than the mk2 version, it's probably a fake. However, it looks good

Maybe, it was linked to the official N.I site though and I can imagine them leaking it that way. Maybe it's got less buttons because it has a touchscreen?

@Olihop A fake? Hmm, why would someone do that? It was a google search shopping listing.

Only S-series keyboard still shown on NI website is the S88...

The S49 and S61 no longer showing up.

It was the first sponsored result on Google shopping when searching for native instruments, komplete Kontrol or maschine+2 and sorting by newest I think. I was looking for any hint of new Maschine hardware. It's not coming up anymore.

Not surprising, doing the KK version of Maschine+. I have no use for such a thing though.

Indeed, if the screen is touch-sensitive, that could justify the fewer buttons.

If you measure the width of the screen, you'll see that it's about the same width as the mk2's two screens combined (21cm). The screen is very large but it's still coherent.

If this is true, we can expect a significant improvement in ergonomics and general workflow compared to the two small screens which, for me, were a real hindrance to evolution in terms of display.

The light-guide seems more like that of the kk mk1...

    the downside: still no pads
