Hi,

I have this problem and I don't know how to solve it :(

Here you are some picks:

The speakers are M-AUDIO BX5.

Here is the pick of the connector to the laptop:

If I connect it to the S2........it does not work either.

Thanks for your help.

If you connect it to the S2 you will have to select the S2 interface as your audio device.

Sure, but I prefer to connect them to the laptop.

Can you take a screenshot of the drop down of available audio device under "Audio Setup"?

Did you try to chose Realtek WASAPI Exclusive mode instead of Shared mode? (If you really want to use WASAPI, maybe installing ASIO4ALL would be better)

Yes, and also connecting the speakers to the microphone input of the S2 (with a converter cable from headphone input to Jack)...........and nothing........I'm starting to get desperate........it may be better to leave it and listen to it when playing it with the laptop's speakers

The microphone input being…well…an input…will not work for sure. Eventually the headphones output (but in this case, as someone already said, you’ll have to chose the S2 as Audio Device and also change the output routing to exit from the headphones…probably loosing the ability to cue the other channel)

OK, so what I have to do?

    Thanks :)

Since in any case plugging the speakers to the laptop doesn’t allow you to use headphones to cue, chose Traktor Kontrol S2 as the audio device.

At this point you have 2 choices:

    1. Plugging your speakers to the headphones output and chose in Output routing/Output Master the headphones output
    2. if you want to use headphones to listen to the track not playing (for preparation of next track), you could plug the speakers in one of the 2 outputs on the back of the S2 and chose it as Output master (but it will be a mono signal doubled in the 2 speakers). Like this you can still chose the headphones output for the Output Monitor

All of this could be ok if you are just having fun in your bedroom…but if you want to DJ anywhere else, what you need is a pair of speakers both with its own cable to plug on the output on the back.

Last possibility: buying a Traktor audio 2 which has both the Main Out and the headphones out as 3.5 mm jacks

If you choose Realtek (Shared mode) does it come out of the build in speakers or what?
