Hi, I'm using Komplete Audio 2 on a Mac mini 2023 with an Apple M2 Pro chip, macOS Ventura 13.4.1(c). Komplete Audio 2 gets disconnected frequently, I can see a crash of process AUHostingServiceXPC_arrow, the crash report is shown below. I would appreciate any idea how to resolve this. Thanks upfront!

@Jeremy_NI , thanks for providing the link. I had a look, but unfortunately this isn‘t helpful.

The Komplete Audio 2 is generally recognised by the system. It is only disappearing (upon the crash of the AUHostingServiceXPC_arrow process) for a moment and reappears then. I can see this while watching the list of available audio devices in the corresponding MacOS setting. It happens if I’m watching a tutorial via Safari Browser and/or working with my Komplete S88 Mk2 and Logic Pro.

I found out that there is a connection to the MacOS backup utility. If automatic backups are enabled the system creates hourly backups. The AUHostingServiceXPC_arrow process crashes always a few moments after the backup has started. I disabled automatic backups and the problem hasn’t reappeared so far.

I will post further updates if the problem reappears at some point in the future.

@Detlev Have you tried these steps? My Native Instruments Hardware Device is Not Recognized

Does it get disconnected when using certain programs or when playing videos? Is there some kind of pattern?

The problem reappeared unfortunately. It appears that there is a connection to Airplay.

I have two devices that are using Airplay, a audio receiver and an older version of Apple TV. If both of them are available, Komplete Audio 2 is dropping out extremely frequently including crashes of the aforementioned process. It is getting more stable again if both Airplay devices are switched off.

However the process still crashes if I quit Logic Pro.

I opened a support case with NI and provided the output of the support tool already. Hope that they can help.

I'll keep you posted on any progress.

Thanks @Jeremy_NI , much appreciated. Do you know a way to switch off Airplay by any chance? I mean not deactivate or just not to use it, but rather switching off the whole Airplay feature altogether, so no processes are running in the background any more.

    1. On a Mac, go to the Apple menu > System Preferences >Sharing
    2. Then deselect the AirPlay Receiver checkbox in the service list.

    That should do the trick.

Thanks! Using MacOS Ventura, the option can be found in System Preferences -> General -> Airdrop&Handoff and yes, the receiving part of Airplay is switched off. However if you have an Airplay-enabled audio receiver running, it is still showing up in the list of available *output* audio devices in the system preferences. However, switching off WLAN appears to be helpful. So far I didn't had any further crashes.

    I'll keep you posted.

By the by, so far I didn't receive any feedback on my NI support request. It would be very interesting to learn the view of the sw developers on this.

Yes, our support agents have a lot of requests to process at the moment so their reply times are a bit longer at the moment.
