**Resolved**: With each update, I have to change the download location to a different location. Not sure what the problem is? I have never changed any of the locations, I've always used the default location -which it seems is where my problems are. Only Kontakt 7 has problems with completing installation after each update. **The problem was resolved by changing the download location from the default (public) location, to (my user name) download location.** Appreciate the responses.

Thank you for your response! Just completed a recent update before the latest, and if I remember correctly, it was when I changed some folders that I was able to complete the update before last. I don't remember exactly what I did to fix it, tbh. I tried so many things. This time I've uninstalled it, reinstalled NI Access and have received a few different error messages. Just very frustrated at having to do all this trial and error moves and nothing is working. I'll spend some more time reading through the posts here but, I'm just about done. Thank you for sharing the link above. I appreciate it. I've used 5?, 6? I don't remember. But, I had absolutely no problems and hesitate trying to bridge my hdd full of older instruments. This has been a bit more trouble than I think anyone should have to go through. Everything else in Collector's seems to run flawlessly. This was more of a scream at the sky before giving up post. Apologies.

You are more likely to get somewhere if you detail exactly what problems you are having. Apart from some frustrating crashes (which would have been less frustrating had I not forgotten the golden rule of 'save early and save often', losing one of the best grooves I've ever made but which was made with a tool designed to encourage experimentation and unexpected results, so recreating it wasn't possible) and unpredictable CPU behaviour at certain latency values (which appears to be my DAW's fault) Kontakt 7 has been working well for me in Ableton Live.

I appreciate that you are legitimately frustrated, but unfortunately – speaking as a software developer – requests to 'fix the thing' without context are not useful. Bugs which occur for some people may not for others and may never occur during general testing, because to trigger them requires a specific set of circumstances that does not come up in testing – when you're talking about software which can be run on multiple hardware configurations, on varied OS versions, with no way to predict what else is installed and running on the same system, it is impossible to test every scenario. The only way to cover all possible test scenarios is to completely control the hardware and software configuration in which your application runs.

NI can't fix something if they don't know what is broken and how to replicate the problem.

I would report all issues to NI with as much information as possible. If they ask you to run a diagnostic tool, do that and send them the results. I can assure you that the majority of software developers want to fix bugs, and will try to work with the information you give them to find and fix the problem(s).

"I have to change the download location to a different location."

Why? Your download location should be you main Downloads folder, the same folder that every other program use too.

The default (public) location, is not your main Downloads folder, so you did well to change it. If you not change it again, it will remain the same, forever.

However, you can use any folder you like, it is not mandatory to use only the Public or the User Download folder.

Why? 'Cause I needed to resolve my problem, and that change did that. ? I think that the default locations should not be problematic, and should not have to be bothered with. This is just my experience and how I resolved my problem.

"Why" was a rhetorical question... if you read more carefully you will see that i wrote:

"you did well to change it."...

What i am saying is that the folder you chose (and fixed your problem), it is the original Download folder (thus, you did very well the change it)! ;-)
