No more short names in Komplete Kontrol / Maschine browser

There was an issue with Komplete Kontrol and Maschine's browser that will appear after updating Kontakt 7. There are no more short names for libraries/instruments which make it difficult to read for some of them:

It is now fixed, you just need to install the latest Kontakt 7.5.1 update.

This issue was fixed with the 7.5.1 update but if it's still happening, try to delete these files:

On Windows:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 7\PAResources\_DatabaseResources\color.db-journal

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 7\PAResources\_DatabaseResources\shortname/shortname.db-journal

Screenshot is showcasing the bug. And yes, this time the issue was detected quite early from our devs.

Maybe I misunderstood but I'm still stuck with those names, is there something I'm missing?

I'm on Win 11,

deleted "C:\Users\[myuser]\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt 7\komplete.db3"

Started kontakt 7 standalone, also komplete kontrol standalone, and did a library rescan, also in vst, but it didn't change anything.

Aaahh nice, thank you very much for making my life easier, it's all readable now.

Only Session Strings Pro 2 about 1 pixel to wide now, but that one is obvious, no ambiguity there.

Thanks for the screenshot. Just wanted to confirm that my issue with this has not achieved what others see.

Did the full uninstall of Kontakt and reinstall..problem still there.

Current versions of everything NI.. also running current version of macOS.

Wonder if this problem is still persistent for others...

@nightjar This issue was fixed with the 7.5.1 update. Deleting the files mentioned in this thread should also do the trick. Is it still happening for you? On what products?

Short name issue still happening for me using Komplete Kontrol 2.9.4, Kontakt 7.5.2, macOS 13.5 on a MacBookPro 14" M1Pro. I did full uninstall/reinstall of Kontakt 7.5.2 and issue persists.

For me (and other Mac users perhaps), problem fixed after deleting these 2 files:

Yep, I did look for the Mac equivalents of what you had posted for Windows additional files and tested results after deleting the 2 files in the Shared folder to see if persistent problem was isolated there. Seems it was for me.
