No integration of Komplete Kontrol S49 MK2 controller in Bitwig Studio 5
Good morning,
It is said on the Native instrument and Bitwig Studio website that Bitwig offers full integration of Maschine MK3 and Komplete Kontrol S49 MK2.
As far as I'm concerned, that's not the case. I followed all the tutorials, none worked. I get good sound, but the integration is very limited. Can you help me?
THANKS !

Controller editor isn’t for MkII keyboards so no
You just add the MOSS extension to Bitwig and the Series II is setup the same way as the native Bitwig integration is only you navigate to the devices added by the extension in the drop-down menu
I’m on Mac

This video from Bitwig explains how to set up the KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series MK2 with Bitwig Studio:
If not, simply create a new remote control page. See the Bitwig manual how to do that

I have it working in Bitwig 5
However the advanced integration using the MOSS extension is better anyway

Dear Sunborn,
I watched the video you gave me very carefully, but I don't see where it explains how to configure Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2. We see how the controller works when it is well configured in Bitwig, but we don't see anywhere how to configure the controller in Bitwig. Also, there is a nice view of the Bitwig software, but never a top view of the controller itself, which might have been helpful. Everything suggests that Komplete Kontrole Series-S is automatically recognized and integrated into Bitwig.
As far as I'm concerned, when I open Bitwig and my controller is on, Bitwig doesn't recognize it. I have to configure it manually. I tried all the possibilities, my controller always stays on MIDI mode and is absolutely not integrated into Bitwig.
Can you tell me if your controller was automatically recognized by Bitwig?
If so, I don't understand why my controller is not automatically recognized. If you have configured your controller yourself, can you tell me how to do it?
Can you point me to the Bitwig manual page where it talks about creating a new remote control page? I don't see her anywhere.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello Kymeia,
Thank you for your reply. I have carefully examined the Moss website.
There is a script for the Komplete Kontrol S1 controller, but not for the S2.
Do you have an S1 or S2 ?
Was your controller automatically recognized by Bitwig?
Did you configure your controller yourself in Bitwig? Can you tell me how to do it?
THANKS !

Hello bendir,
1- The info and the video are from the Native Instruments support, here:
What they write there is: "This video from Bitwig explains how to set up the KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series MK2 with Bitwig Studio". So i posted it, but i didn't actually see the video.
2- The info "Create a new remote control page. See the Bitwig manual how to do that" i found it on the KVR forum, here: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=516124
Those were posted just to give you some general help! I can not provide a deeper help because i actually use Cubase.

Hi all,
I have just had a completely unexpected success!
My Komplete Kontrole S49 MK2 controller is now better integrated with Bitwig 5. Not 100% but about 70%. This may be the setup Thavius shows in the video Sunborn posted above.
I can't say right now exactly what happened, because I did two things almost simultaneously, and I don't know if it was one of the two or both that produced this change.
I'm working on an iMac Os Ventura 13.4.1 Intel.
1- First I opened the Controller Editor and on the right window I clicked on :
Template > Edit > Open
and to my surprise I came across a new path. Usually, when I click on Open, I come across :
Documents > Bitwig Studio > Extensions / controller scripts (Empty file, where there is no script).
But now I came across :
Applications > Bitwig Studio > Contents > Resources > Controller Scripts > Native Instruments > Komplete Kontrole > Bitwig.nckk (see attachment)
So I clicked on the Bitwig.nckk script to load it into the Komplete Kontrol S - 2 page of the Controler Editor software (see attachment)
2- In Bitwig studio's Controller Settings, I clicked on the + to add a controller, and instead of clicking on Generic, I clicked on Controller, and I came across a new configuration of Komplète Kontrol S49 MK2 which I had never seen until now (see attachment)
Immediately my controller woke up and the majority of the buttons lit up. I can control quite a few things in Bitwig software, like Thavius. It's not perfect, but it's great!!!
So, I hope this can help someone.

Dear Kymeia
Thank you very much for your answer, it helps me to see things more clearly.
If you allow me, I would like to ask you a few more questions which I hope will help me to resolve this fascinating question once and for all. When Komplete Kontrol S49 MK2 is well integrated into Bitwig, it's a marvel !
- Do you work on Mac Os or on Windows ?
- If I understand correctly, you have not used Controller Editor at all to configure your Komplete Kontrol S series ?
- Was your Komplete Kontrole controller automatically recognized by Bitwig or did you configure it manually ?
- If you configured it manually, did you do the following :
+ Add Controller > (Product) Controller > Komplete Kontrole S49 MK2 ?
Or this :
+ Add Controller > Generic > Native Instruments > Komplete Kontrole S49 MK2 ?
- Is the script you used this one: DrivenByMoss.ncm3 ?
- If not, can you tell me what your script is called and where you found it? I don't see the Komplete Kontrole S MK2 on the Moss website.
Thank you very much in advance!

Ok, thank you very much for your help !
Indeed, I got exactly the same configuration as you with MOSS extension.
Excuse all my superfluous questions.
I wish you lots of fun with Bitwig and Komplete Kontrol. It's always a party to play with it !
