Sustain Pedal in Ignition Keys (or other Play series)
Hi all,
Sustain behaves as expected for some presets, but not others. How do I define behavior for sustain pedal within the program? For example, I can easily set it do certain things in Vintage Organs in View B. Just can't find the view or parameter for Ignition.
Thanks!

That is indeed intentional and by design. It was done in order to enable users to MIDI learn the Latch button to CC #64 in order to sustain the sequence. Otherwise if it just behaved as your regular sustain pedal, you'd very quickly get a mush of overlapping voices, which is usually not what's wanted.

Not all instruments take advantage of sustain pedals

It works in certain presets and not others, so it's not a universal Ignition Keys issue.
It doesn't even apply universally to specificA/B sounds--there are presets that don't seem to allow sustain that I can then recreate my own versions of, and sustain will work. I'm fairly confident there is a parameter somewhere, I just don't know where.

@shirleytemple22 Can you name a few presets where sustain works and a few where it doesn't so we can check it out?

For example Dimension 7.
Every preset that come with Seq activated ignores sustain, after deactivating Seq it sustain works for them also.

Thanks Friede and NI team. It's a lot of the presets. Off the top of my list, Thicck, Three Hole Pipe, Belysium all do not appear to have sustain functionality.

@shirleytemple22 Ok I think I see the issue now. It depends of the selected samples or sound engines in A and B. If both have a sample with an end, like here, there is no sustain because the samples are simply played until the end.
On other presets, the sample is actually a loop or can be looped, sustain then will sustain the note.
On presets with an arpeggiator or a sequence, the sustain pedal does nothing at all but you can use the latch function here.
@EvilDragon The sustain pedal not working with the arp / sequence, is that intentional / by design?
