Komplete Audio 1 Clipping When Monitoring

Hi, I've got a Komplete Audio 1 connected to Audio-Technica M40X headphones and when I monitor the audio from my microphone I hear clipping even when the input doesn't appear to clip and sounds fine when I record it and play it back.

Hello,

do you use direct monitoring or do you monitor through your DAW? The Komplete audio 1 has a knob for select/mixing input/host going to your output, how is it set?

Yes, I use direct monitoring.

I usually have it set to about 60/40 between my mic and my PC (60% being the mic)

Have you tried to lower the gain or tried a mono line input source on input 2? I guess you use input 1 for the mic?

On a Komplete Audio 1 the second input is Jack only, my microphone is XLR and needs the power provided through it.

I did try lowering the gain and I don't hear clipping when it's lowered, but then it's really quiet
