You lose some functionality when you downgrade from Maschine mk3 to mikro. If someone buys say an m32. You should allow for all the knobs on the m32 to control the volumes and pans on the maschine2 software. Even Ableton automatically allows the m32 to control their volumes & pans on their software when using the m32. My recommendation is that if you hold shift down. on the m32 the knobs become volume control for the maschine2 software. If you hold shift down on the maschine mikro the knobs on the m32 control pans for the maschine2 software.

Probably not the best way but you get the idea.
