Does it not work out of the box?

@lord-carlos i will get it next week, but i already wanted to check how to install it.
Do you think it will work without installing any software on linux?

The soundcard or the hid interface?
I would assume both will work out of the box with mixxx. I don't know, but I assume the soundcard is class compliant and will work on most OS. And mixxx has mappings for the HID interface to be controlled by it.

i want to use it in bitwig 4 on my linux mint laptop as a soundcard and controller - you think it will work out of the box for that?

The soundcard IS class compliant (they did it so it works with Traktor DJ on iPad).
To use the controller side you probably have to use Controller Editor (which seems to work on Linux) to “program” it. But it is unclear if the Z1 will be even seen as a controller.
Take a look at this:

I'm not sure. The sound probably.
I think you have to active midi mode with every start: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/ja/articles/210301045-How-to-Use-the-TRAKTOR-KONTROL-Z1-as-a-MIDI-Controller-and-Audio-Interface-with-Ableton-Live
