Good point about sounds used in millions of songs @D-One 👍🏼

But for every “recognizable” sound in Maschine library (loops, vocal stabs,…) there are 20 basic sounds that can be used again and again (kicks, snares, 808,…)

In the end, a C3 note on an Hammond has always the same sound…but it produced:

    • Voodoo Chile - Jimi Hendrix
    • A whiter shade of pale - Procol Harum
    • Me and Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin
    • Let it be - The Beatles
    • Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
    • Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
    • Dance to the Music - Sly and the Family Stone
    • Like a Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
    • Je t’aime…moi nonplus - Serge Gainsbourg
    • Oye Como Va - Santana
    • Squib Cakes - Tower of Power
    • That’s Life - Frank Sinatra
    • Surfing USA - The Beach Boys

    😉

Or if we wanna talk about the 808:

    • Paul Revere - Beastie Boys
    • Sexual Healing - Marvin Gaye
    • Psycho Killer - Talking Heads
    • Lose Control - Missy Elliot
    • Going Back To Kali - LL Cool J
    • Planet Rock - Afrika Bambaataa And The Soul Sonic Force
    • Doin It Right - Planet Funk

    Hello Everyone,

I'm hopping on this post because I am in the same situation as Izzy. I bought used Maschine (first edition) without the software. What is my best course of action. I kindof just wanted a Midi Controller for samples but it seems I should go the route of getting the software to have the full experience. One of the comments said that the former owner could transfer the software / license to me and still keep it. Is this correct ?

    Thanks for all your help

    It seems so.

In my case, the previous owner didn’t fulfill the promise to ask for the license transfer and support told me they didn’t mind he would have kept the software.

Other users reported this is the new politic of NI

Be aware that he cannot give you the same serial he registered, but ask for a License transfer in the NI forum (they’ll send him a new one to forward to you)

Contact IN, they should provide you with a new Serial…

but definitely, it would be worth to update the sound library… that’s my next step

Happy you had your license. Can I ask you (for other users to know) what changed between the first time when they told you you had to buy it to this second positive answer? What did you told them this time?

And also why they didn’t give you the full version of Maschine (with the updated sound library included) which was bundled with that hardware?

I’m not sure if it is the full version! I notice it didn’t come with many sounds… maybe that their full version… I will email them and ask… I know This company make some of the best VST…

this time they ask me for prove of the hardware, serial number… I took pictures and sent them to them, proving that I actually own the hardware…

    their team was very helpful…

I’m sure that if you can demonstrate you own the hardware, they will give you a license…

This is how it goes usually. But since you said before that you contacted them and they told you you had to buy the software anyway, I was afraid they changed their politic. Or it depends on who answer you ☺️

Good to know You had your software anyway, even if it is the version with the limited library and MK2 came with the full one
