Windows 11- Sleep Function Cutting Off S4
Hi all
Bought a new laptop last week to gig with.
Been having a pretty frustrating time with the screen saver/sleep function kicking in after a few minutes of inactivity, killing the power to my controller and causing sound levels to die completely
I've been through the power and battery settings pretty exhaustively, set the laptop to sleep never, screen saver off etc. Nothing seems to work
Anyone have any ideas or had the same problem and resolved it?

Hi @thirdmanonmoon ,
are you still struggling with the issue? Should it persist still, I recommend to contact the computer manufacturer's customer support.

You have to disable the USB selective suspend setting too (as a start at least)
Then go to Control Panel, Device Manager and disable the "Allow the computer to turn off this device" on ALL USB controllers
I think this will be enough

thanks. much appreciated.
had partially worked in that the s4 is no longer powering off.
still kills the sound output when the screen goes into sleep 😢

Then, STOP the screen from "goes into sleep".
It is a "must do" for audio production, one of the very basic things we do! To completely disable (or even delete when possible) all of those Windows rubbish.
There are many more things to do, but the above article is a good start

First thing I did.
Literally troved through 20+ articles trying to get a fix. nothing works
Leave it, screen shuts down after 4 mins
goes to lock screen, requests pin.
Have managed to stop it killing the usb power so traktor is still running in the background but no sound. maddening

In settings uncheck "On resume display logon screen." Even though the Screensaver is set to none, I guess this can cause the screen to timeout?
I could be wrong about this, but it worked on another computer I had.

I do have the exact same problem with Win11. Not on the MacBook.
Ableton seems to correctly disable the screenlock when started and keeps in foreground on the exact same device.
