Feature request: select a default record mode (Not a gripe but a wish)

I use Maschine as a DAW. It would be nice if we could have in the preferences the ability to select a default record mode. I use "detect" exclusively, why not make it a choice in preferences which to default to? Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

    Actually one of the devs mentioned this workaround:

    You can have a template project with detect on. Just create a project with detect on and put it there, every new project will have that by default.
