GUI design: adventures in Blender.

If you're still taking suggestions, more buttons, faders, and LED's are badly needed.

Yeah, i'm looking into designing full kits for blocks.
Knobs, scales, shadows, mod rings, faders, buttons, mod wheels, LEDs...
The good thing about the 2D graphics from the Blocks Template, is that they can be layered on top of anything and look decent. 3D graphics really have to match everything else.

Boss style knobs coming up.
These are not dissimilar to Moog knobs, but they have a slightly different shape and are skirtless.
You find these on many modules like Doepfer. These will probably be an update to the Doepfer GUI kit i already posted.

GUI KIT knobs Boss.
Boss style knobs for your Blocks.
With matching scales and mod rings.
Mod rings are different from NI standard rings. I designed the scales larger than NI standard and made mod rings to match.

Working on something minimalist.
These are standard Efflam/NI size, but the light channels are included so i'll be making matching mod rings for these as well.

Hey Bollie, can you easily whip up a standard 2d button picture with Green for on and Red for off. Just a small circle the same diameter as the normal button would be nice. I can do it, but thought I'd ask, it'll take me a few days. Thanks

D'you mean the same height or width as the rectangular Primary button?

Using the height for the circumference of the circle is what I had in mind. The width would be gigantic.

Talk to me about layering.
What i'm trying to do is have a shadow at the bottom (0), a Multi Picture module on top of that, a mod ring on top of that, and a transparent dummy knob at the very top. So that the Multi Picture has the knob graphics, the mod ring goes over and on top of those graphics, but the knob graphics are still controlled by the invisible knob at the very top. Get what i'm saying?
This does not work any way i try to slice it. Though i've seen it done in builds like Monark.
Is it the fact that i've put everything knob related in a macro and that the mod ring isn't part of that macro?

Mod rings done.
Turns out, as far as i can tell, layering doesn't work when all the elements aren't contained in the same macro. So i put the knobs and mod rings in the same macro, set their layer number, and Bob's your uncle.
Now the mod rings are on top of the knob graphics (Multi Picture module), with a transparent dummy knob over the very top. Boom. Mod rings integrated in the knob graphics.

Thanks Bolle, can you upload the picture itself, I only have Reaktor 6.4.3 after updating it. Not sure how you got version 6.5. Maybe you are enrolled to work on a beta release or something. Appreciate it.
