What is the best traktor ready mixer with pads available today?

I'm so tempted to grab an S9.
Are the mixer/hardware FX useable when you're using Traktor in DVS mode?

Yes, the hardware FX can be used with Traktor and DVS, as well as with analogue records. You can freely set and change the parameters in the setup utility of the mixer. Then save it on two different banks and simply call it up during operation.
The only problem is that the mixer doesn't get the Master BPM from Traktor. You have to set the tempo with the TAP and if necessary adjust it because the TAP on the S9 doesn't work very accurately in my opinion. Unfortunately, decimal places cannot be set, so here "only" even BPM numbers.
Edit: It is possible to adjust decimals on a DJM-S9 and DJM-S11, i just wasn't clever enough to sort it out how. By pressing first TAP and then SHIFT it will display the decimals and then it's possible to correct them. Beside of that, only the DJM-S11 is able to receive the master tempo from Traktor.

Oh that sucks. Does it not calculate to decimal places, or, just not display to decimal places? I think my DJM-850 only displays whole whole numbers, but, from what I gather, calculates to decimal places (loops are accurate, etc...)

I have never used a Pioneer mixer but I would also consider the Rane Seventy. It does have decimal BPM btw.

No, I don't think the decimals are taken into account when you have to set the tempo manually. With a DJM-850 you can adjust it much more precisely than with the DJM-S9. Unfortunately, you could not adopt these habits from your current mixer. But I quickly found my "workarounds" and meanwhile got used to it. I use different FX depending on what I'm doing and have adjusted my mapping a bit so I can also use Traktor's internal filters if I need to be really precise.
When I'm playing more electronic music, I bring my X1 along so I can control the parameters and groups. With hip hop and the like, I switch to single mode without the X1 and just concentrate on the S9.

Good to know that the master tempo is being received correctly!
I'll wait a bit longer before I buy a new mixer again. Stupid as I am, I still haven't given up hope for a Z2 successor.
If nothing new comes until winter / spring, I will definitely get a RANE Seventy. Do you think it's worth getting an A-Trak Special Edition right away, or is the added value minimal?

Apologies, I misinterpreted your post - the Seventy does not do any beat detection at all but it's easy to tap and fine tune. So from that perspective the S9 is even better. Still the Seventy is a great mixer even for use with Traktor.
I think A-Trak's version is cool but beyond my abilities 😄

Ah no worry mate. It looks like me too. The advantage from the Seventy is then correctly wise the decimal adjustment. The DJM-S9 don't offer that and even don't receive the master tempo from Traktor -> Only the DJM-S11 is able to do it (also without decimals, but like 96, 97, 98, etc.)

Yes I understand now. The S11 sure seems nice but it's very pricey. I had a Z2 for 4 years and then moved to the Seventy. It took some time adjusting (innofader vs Mag4) but I have no regrets. I loved the Z2 but it's just outdated now.
Also if you go for the Seventy, my mapping is around here somewhere on the forum.

@Owner Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences about how these mixers work with Traktor pro! Unfortunately, there isn't too much info about the same on any portal therefore I really appreciate your effort!
In case you have a chance to test the Rane Seventy with Traktor Pro and share your thoughts with us I would highly appreciate it!

I'm happy if it helps someone. However, I haven't bought a RANE Seventy yet. Just ask @Scratch-E Con , he has his own mapping and has been playing with it for a long time.

Thanks a lot @Scratch-E Con!
Could you please share your thoughts and experience about Rane Seventy? How smoothly does Traktor Pro3 work with it? Any Pros and cons? Thanks in advance!

Pros: all basic functionalities are properly mapped like cue points (add/delete/loop/colors), Traktor FX 1&2, loops, Flux
Cons: no auto BPM detection for FX, you have to use tap; no post-fader Traktor FX (but the internal Rane FX do work post-fader/crossfader)
Biggest pro of all: you get Serato DJ Pro with it so you can enjoy stems and Phase HID mode
