Machine2: how can I see on the left panel only the instruments I have purchased and installed?

Hi I am a newcomer here, although Ni software user for some years.

I recently got a M32 and the Machine2 bundled with it and other software.

I am trying to make things work, but one of my main "troubles" is that on the left panel I see all instruments offered by NI and I own only some of them. So when I select one, chances are 9 times out of 10 the instrument is not available to me.

Things would be much easier if I could see on the left panel only the ones that I own.

Is there a way to do this?

The message "ERROR: Instrument can not be loaded" means 2 different things:

    • You have some NKS presets of that instruments, but not the instrument itself. Thus, when you click the preset, Maschine try to load the instrument, but the instrument dos not exist, so you get this error message.
    • You have a preset made by a VST2 version of the plugin, but you only have the VST3 version (or vice versa). Many developers now have successfully migrate their plugins, so you can load any preset by both versions (VST2 and VST3), but not all of them. However, Waves plugins are migrate successfully now, but in your case, they are not. This indicates that you have an older version of Waves plugins and you should upgrade.

    Hello,

On the left panel, you actually see all the instruments that you installed on your computer.

However, you have probably download some libraries and those libraries may contain instruments that you don't have.

For example: the "Chromatic Fire" library contains presets from Massive, Monark and Prism. You may not have those instruments.

There is not much choices here, unfortunately. You have either to ignore those cases, either to purchase the instruments, either to uninstall those libraries that contain them.

@dhmpan Can you post screenshots? What are the products where you click and get an error message?

In the case of b for bite and all you need is clav what it is trying to load is Waves Clavinet, not a NI plug-in

    OK understood

In that case is there a way so that only the valid (i.e. usable by Maschine) can be shown there?

No. If you don't want to see the presets of the instruments that you don't have, you have to remove them. Not necessarily to delete them (since in the future you may get this plugin), just move them on some other folder and keep them as backup.

I may be able to provide you more detailed info (even to point out some solution) but i need to know all plugins that cause you the problem, what version they are and what are your NKS presets. Perhaps you can click on "All instruments" so we can see the instruments, not the presets, and make a picture of it

so I need to check them all out...

(sorry that I am caught amateurish on this, but most of my NI instruments come from bundles and had never been my goto instruments. I just got them at times, loaded, tried, but actually never used them extensively, if not at all)
