Kontakt 7 very very long to launch
Hi,
Kontakt 7 takes about 45s to launch in standalone or as a plugin, Kontakt 6 3s only.
Why? Is there a workaround?
I have uninstalled it twice but with the same result. Kontakt 7, imho is a real waste of money, I got so many bugs since the begining.
I'm on PC i7, 16Go ram

NEW UPDATE TODAY fixes the load times, Kontakt 7 now for me loads instantly rather than 45+ seconds, lets hope they can do the same for Battery 4 :)
UPDATE: Spoke too soon, after PC restart back up to 25 seconds hahahahha

Hey all, as promised and coming a bit late, but finally it's here, Kontakt 7.10.7 final update, including Sequoia compatibility nad improvements on loading times:
##IMPROVED Now loads as much as 6x faster than prior - better instantiation times with a lot of content products and 3rd party plugins installed
Please open Native Access and update.

when it takes that long, is Kontakt Loading a Library? What DAW? and have you done a batch resave with K7? Just a few questions that may help figure out why...

I did a new installation now and got no GUI anymore in standalone!!! (ok as VST)
And always as long to launch
Do you know how to do a fresh installation? What folders do I have to delete?

Another installation, this time after deleting key registries and some folders as suggested when you got crash issues.
I now recover gui in standalone mode but Kontakt launch is always as slow

I have already followed the steps mentioned when Kontakt crashes but my Kontakt doesn't crash
I have no problem at all with the libraries.
Again, Kontakt 7 takes 45s to open (standalone and vst), Kontakt 6 only 3s.
That's why I don't use Kontakt 7 anymore

Hi Sebastian,
for information, Kontakt v7.1.6 doesn't solve the issue (there is no communication at all for thi update), it's even a little bit longer to launch (41s in standalone, 34s as VST3).
The thing I've noticed is that as VST3, the first time you launch Kontakt7, it takes 34s but if you delete the plugin and open it again it's instantaneous.
It could maybe help the developers.

I have exactly the same problem. Launching either standalone or VST takes ages. I tried batch re-saving everything just in case, but didn't help. I had the earlier 7.0.11 on a disk backup which launches instantly. I thought I'd stick with that until a new update sorts out the problem. But now I get the "Kontakt is too old" error message when trying to load any library, because of the batch re-save. Arghhhhhh. No word from NI since I asked for help 3 days ago.

Hi Mordicus, I'm in contact with NI to try to solve this problem that some users encouter.
They did some tests, even directly on my PC without finding any trouble. They go on searching.
I've noticed that in c:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center\ I had a lot of xml files from plugins like Waves, Softube...
I've moved these files in another directory and the launching time droped to 20s or 10s in standalone and 5s as vst3.
The support knows this behaviour now and I'm waiting for new infos.

I THINK I've found a workaround. Do you by any chance also own miniKorg and/or Korg Gadget?
Removing/relocating all the NKS folders from C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\KORG has stopped that awful delay in launching Kontakt 7.
You can always tell Maschine/Komplete Kontrol where to look for the NKS files, if you use those too

Thanks too for your suggestions.
I don't own any Korg product and Komplete Control is not installed. But I'm gonna look for nks files on my Pc, I know there are some. If so, I will do some tests.
I communicate with the support, they are listening to customers and aware of these troubles. Any clue can be helpful for them.
