I will continuously update this post as we learn more.
As per Jeremy_NI's post:
Any further updates will be shared through our official channels when appropriate.
Very curious how long it will take until we have any official news. Lots of brands and stakeholders affected.
Sad that there isnât an official statement here for the loyal customers. Bad decisions in the past (controller without pitch ? No Apple Music integration) so alpha teta took over the lead. I still think Traktor is the better software for doing a quick mix for me but just when i thought about replacing my s2mk2 mixer and there wasnât anything new in sight so I had to change to pioneer. Rekordbox still isnât my favorite software for live mixing but preparing⌠I can add streaming titles from Apple Music and edit my playlists on the go on my phone. And ni? Just stopped working on the mobile Traktor app.

This makes me sad. Native Instruments looks to be in trouble. I guess it's time to make sure to install any updates and install everything to a second computer.
I suspect the NI employees who post on here are just as in the dark as you or I.
Usually the staff are told everything is 100% fine, they've no need to worry, then they either turn up one day and all is fine, or they turn up to find the doors locked.
Hopefully it's the former, but rumours like this (I found it on Steinbergs forum) put people off investing in more hardware/software, so the sooner it's dealt with and an official solution is announced, the better for everyone.
Thatâs terrible news, so sorry to hear this đł
I wanted to be harsh.. I feel for all the NI employees. I mean all the developers. Programmers. Sound designers an so on.. I hope things work out well for guys and girls working at native instruments.
As a customer of kontrol mk3 and the 3 years to just get the controller working to a quarter of its potential. Now we know why.
I assume this is why Native Access just ceased working.
If Apple were to buy NI as an addition to their Creator Studio subscription, it will be software only. I really donât see them taking on the development of all the hardware. besides the software would then highly probably become Mac and Logic Pro only. Windows users can say goodbye to Kontakt and Komplete plugins etc. Apple created Creator Studio so that people keep buying new Macs and iPads etc. The Creator Studio subscription was created so that the software development doesnât cut into the hardware sales margins anymore. The subscriptions will pay for the development. Which in itself is a good thing as the subscription model forces Apple to regularly release updates. But forget about Apple buying NI. Wonât happen.
Having been the guy managing comms in situations such as this for larger companies than NI, let's not jump to conclusions. Sure, discuss. Be sad if it is the case, but European businesses are set up very differently to a US based businesses, and UK Businesses, and there will be financial requirements of any party involved in any of what might or might not happen. More importantly, there's a lot of people I respect at NI, who might be worried right now. Perhaps send your good wishes their way.
From production-expert.com (my emphasis)
"Native Instruments Group GmbH has entered preliminary insolvency proceedings under German law.
This step does not mean the company has ceased trading, nor does it automatically trigger liquidation. Instead, the court has moved to stabilise the situation while an independent assessment of the business takes place.
A provisional insolvency administrator, Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini, has been appointed. From this point forward, Native Instruments can no longer freely dispose of assets or make significant financial decisions without approval. Creditors are temporarily prevented from enforcing claims, and incoming funds are placed under the administratorâs supervision. The aim is to prevent a rapid deterioration of the companyâs financial position while options are evaluated.
Importantly, management remains in place, but its authority is now restricted. The administratorâs role is not to run the business day to day, but to secure assets, examine the books, and determine whether the companyâs finances can support either a restructuring or an orderly insolvency process.
At this stage, no outcome has been decided. Preliminary insolvency is a fact-finding and damage-control phase. Possible next steps range from restructuring and asset sales to the opening of full insolvency proceedings if no viable path forward is found.
For employees, German insolvency law typically provides short-term protections, meaning this does not imply immediate job losses. For users, products and licences do not suddenly stop working, though development pace, support, and long-term roadmaps are now uncertain.
This remains a developing situation. What is clear is that Native Instrumentsâ future will be shaped over the coming weeks by hard financial and structural decisions rather than marketing or product strategy."
Reason number 1312 why I won't ever buy a Musio product.
That is funny. This is Apple we are talking about - right?
Since when would they ever "keep" Windows versions going?
Apple would have zero interest in keeping their primary competitor in the mix.
VP
"Official" statements - directly related to the health of a business - would come from those who own it. Or the CEO.
But considering how fluid this is - and not exactly expected - pretty sure official statements are as ways away yet.
100% this. Apple would terminate all Windows versions of software immediately after takeover.
Another success story for private equity!
