Does auto-migration works for Kontakt Player?

Hi,

here https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/12972701353757-Notes-about-Auto-Migration-of-Kontakt-Versions-in-DAW-Projects is stated that there is an auto-migration feature for Kontakt, so that one can delete an old version, and a newer version will automatically be used in Cubase 12+.

Question: does it work also for Kontakt Player? I have tried to remove Kontakt PLayer 7, while having Kontakt Player 8 installed in Cubase 13 Pro and Cubase 15 Pro, and it simply did not work: Cubase has complained that Kontakt Player 7 is not there and cannot proceed.

P. S. I have restarted my computer after deleting Kontakt Player 7 according to the instructions in Native Instruments (where is the installation script, btw, NI?).

Auto-migration sounds like a "paid" option to me. Hopefully NI can confirm.

@dmitry-kabanov The feature is for all versions of Kontakt, free or paid. The issue is coming from elsewhere. Please double check all your VST3 plug-ins, see if there isn't a Kontakt 7 plugin file duplicate somewhere.

Same problem here. I don't have Kontakt 7 player installed, when I activate a template that uses Kontakt 7, it won't migrate to Kontakt 8 player.

Have you checked every plugin folder to see if there wasn't an old Kontakt 7 plug-in or duplicate, or even previous version (in all fromats, VST, VST3, AU if you're on Mac)?

In what DAW is this happening, what version, what is your operating system?

I have, yes. Multiple times. I've even done a search on my hard-drive to find anything relatable to Kontakt 7.

I'm using Cubase 15, windows 11

You should also check that the DAW has not somehow excluded the Kontakt 8 Player like it did for the user here.
