Instrument images missing since UI update

Since the UI update a couple (?) months ago, I've consistently had the same instrument images missing from the newly redesigned instrument-and-tools view. Everything looks fine in the browser-and-presets view; there, no images are missing for any of the instruments (that UI didn't change).

I've tried deleting the komplete.db3 file, but the missing images never refresh.

I've also tried uninstalling a few of the instruments with missing images and reinstalling them, but that also had no effect.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Update after hearing back from Soniccouture overnight: It's a known issue that has yet to be resolved.

I'm told the images in the instruments-and-tools view are NOT submitted by library publishers. Instead, they are generated automatically from other images by Kontakt.

On Soniccouture's end, they're seeing missing images on some workstations with Kontakt installations, but not on others.

So they are aware of it and are working with NI on it.

(And so as not to pick on Soniccouture—whom I adore—other libraries I'm seeing with missing images include E-Instruments and Ethno World.)

To fix or replace the images, you can drop your own 1280x212 pixel image with the name "NKS2_hardware_banner.webp" into each of the folders found in Public/Documents/NI Resources/image, and this will resolve the issue. (And you can use the other images in there to make them.)

Or, like @Vocalpoint said, you can wait until NI figures it out.

This is by design.

All these vendors need to provide the new Kontakt 8.7x design graphics.

No amount of reinstalling or database destruction will fix this.

Thanks. I considered that, but some of the images for my Soniccouture libraries are present and some are missing—so I figured it must be a bug.

And however long it's been, I assumed it would be fixed by now if a few minutes of Photoshop were the fix. We're not talking about complex stuff here!

This specific “new view” change came in 8.7.1 - which is barely a month old.

SonicCouture (and all the rest) will need months to catch up.

All you can do is wait it out.

Well - SonicCouture may think it's a bug - but I have a host of other vendors here that have plain out said - they need to create new graphics - and get new installers up to Native Access - end. Stop.

When 8.7.1 dropped - I had probably 25 libraries with no graphics. None have been updated since then. Also found out a library like say - Albion One from Spitfire - will NEVER get new graphics - so I had to make my own.

Well, it's definitely an issue, and it appears to be known!

My point is, it can be addressed and we can make our own graphics.

We don't have to just "wait it out." Yay!
