Is there a list of the predefined Midi CC in Massive X? Like Modwheel is always Midi CC 1? I tested a bit and only found this one predefined Midi CC
Would be intereseted in knowing this as well? Are the macros mapped to any CC?
None of the 16 macros or any other parameter in Massive X are controlled by general MIDI CC, except for modulation. Massive X has the mod wheel assigned to CC 1 (general MIDI compliant). Pitch bend and aftertouch are not MIDI CC messages. Massive X makes available the 16 macros, mod wheel, pitch bend, aftertouch, and the morph-X and morph-Y controls for DAW automation. You are restricted to just those parameters for DAW automation.
There is also no Learn MIDI assignment option in Massive X, which means that there is no way to assign its parameters to an external controller when inserting Massive X as an instrument in your host. The only exception is running Massive X within the Komplete Kontrol host. When loading Massive X within Komplete Kontrol, you can can configure Komplete Kontrol's MIDI settings to map the the 16 macros to your external controller. Unfortunately, however, KK (current 3.5.1) does not provide pitch bend, aftertouch, morph-X, or morph-Y controls for mapping.
Once loaded in a host you can assign any MIDI cc to the macros and XY if you prefer to use MIDI over host automation. You just have to do it using CC mapping to the exposed params in the host own MIDI configuration settings (eg in Live do this in the MIDI mapper) rather than directly on the plugin which doesn’t have MIDI learn
This is DAW dependent. I know you can do this Ableton, but not in Logic Pro
Everything will change when Massive X will finally expose its parameters for automation. 🙂
