Your version of Kontakt 7 is too old?

I installed a new pc, W11 Cubase pro 14. NI CE 14, but can't get session guitarist to work
I get the message my version of kontakt is to old, but i have the latest version?
I only have the free version of kontakt 8 . My version of kontakt 7 is 7.10.9, What can I do to make session guitarist work again please?
When creating a new track with kontakt 7, Cubase 14 pro is also blocking and I cant do anything after that, my screen is freezing…..Didn;t have that before either
Do I have to buy kontakt 8 now to solve this?

Yes - and if you have Cubase - which fully support Kontakt migration - it should simply replace all prior Kontakt 7 instances with Kontakt 8.

AND - not need to "buy" Kontakt 8 if all you do is play back Kontakt libraries.

K8 Player is identical to Kontakt Full - the best difference is that it is free.

For NI libraries you do not need the full version of Kontakt 8, our libraries only require the free player version. So unless you are using third party libraries that require the full version there is no need for you to upgrade.

And yes, there is an automigration system for certain DAWs, including Cubase: Notes about Auto-Migration of Kontakt Versions in DAW Projects

All of my Session Guitarist libraries still work in Kontakt 7 (version 7.10.9) as well as Kontakt 8 full version, but I may not be working with the same Session Guitaist library you're using.

Which Session Guitarist? There are 10 versions (I have 8 here). Checking the release notes, some require Kontakt 8 now. Some don't.

They all require K8 now.

And Cubase fully supports Kontakt Instance Migration. If you have K8 Player installed - and can simply uninstall K7 and any old song that had K7 in it - should simply migrate to K8 Player.

If you do not want to do this - and stick with K7 - You need to roll back any effected libraries.

So If i upgrade to Full Kontakt 8, I can uninstall all older Kontakt versions ( I have kontakt 6- K 7 and free8 )
And just use Full Kontakt 8, All old projects wil automatically migrate to K8?

Hmmm, I've got Electric Mint here, and the release notes say that 1.1.0 (latest) requires a minimum version of 7.6
