Sound problem on Windows 10

Hi,

I have an old Guitar RIG 4 Essential with the usb Guitar RIG mobile I/O interface.

Everything was working fine on my laptop with Windows 10.

But i just reinstalled Windows 10 few weeks ago and i experience a strange problem:

When i plug the usb interface, i can play music or a movie and i hear the sound in my headphone pluged to the Guitar RIG Mobile I/O.

But i launch Guitar RIG 4, i can't play any music or movie (there is no sound, and sometime a red cross on Windows Media player). But i hear correctly the sound of my guitar in my headphone.

And if i quit Guitar RIG 4, i'm able to play any music/film again.

So i can't have both in the same time.

Some additionnal informations:

I use ASIO4All
I try Guitar RIG 7 free version, but there is the same problem
I try to install the last version of the USB mobile I/O but it's seems not compatible with Windows 10 (i get this error during the installation: "List index out of bounds"). So i use the version that i have with my Guitar RIG 4 essentiel (that worked perfectly with my old Windows 10).

So if someone have the solution to solve this, i'll be happy to hear it 😀

Check that the sample rates are the same for Windows Audio and Guitar Rig. If they're different that can cause problems.

I checked that and i have 48000 Hz from both side.

Can you try unticking the "allow applications to take exclusive control" box? That might be causing problems.

I already tried and it's not changing anything (but windows tell me that another application is using the device when i apply).

That has been seen to happen if Windows already have device N.I: hardware agent running and then another one is opened , check if you have dupe hardware agent running for your device or if another software is using it. Reference this discussion here and forward.

I follow you link and found a process RtkNGUI64.exe. When i killed it there was a change: if i play music on Windows Media Player and after this i open Guitar RIG, the music is now still playing. But i lost my guitar sound…).

And if i close Windows Media Player and open Guitar RIG again, now i can hear my guitar, but i'm not able to play music on Windows Media Player (this cursor stay at the beginning but no error message).

Still very strange problem…

Check what drivers that you use and make sure that you have turned off the grab exclusive access. Check my post here.

So i turn off exclusive access but it's same: always the first apps i launch that seems to take the control of the audio.

I also tried to install Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver but i have no sound and i'm not able to have the settings window.

But i pretty sure that on my old Windows 10 my working settings was not using Asio4All device but Guitar RIG Mobile I/O like that:

But for any reason the status is always on Stopped and latency didn't display.

So i think as your said, i'll ask the NI support to have help.

Thanks for all suggestions and i'll tell you back if i find what was wrong.
