komplete s88 mk3 driver not listed in update windows 10

I haven't heard from NI for four days and have s88 mk3 not working. Screen is white with no logo, message or anything and no lights come on. The cable is not the issue as when on it populates in the device manager. When I go to update driver there is no Komplete MK3 driver only Machine MK3. NI support site has no driver download for MK3. I am soon to return the keyboard and purchase a new one but concerned this may be an issue other then the actual keyboard. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

"NI support site has no driver download for MK3"

There are no "standalone" driver installers to my knowledge - all drivers for MKII/MKIII series come with the installation of Komplete Kontrol - which you can do via Native Access.

I have Komplete Kontrol v2.9.6 installed here and this is what the MKII S61 drivers look like in my Win 10 install:

    Hello,

the driver is within native access, it's called "hardware connection service" as far as I know. So please check there first and install the hcs.

Be sure to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS

The S88 MK3 should have an USB-C Power supply capable of PD attached to the power in port on the keyboard to work - do not expect the keyboard to work correctly without , and do not try to update firmware without at least attaching an USB-C PD power supply.

Also as already suggested by Uwe303 : Do you have the NI Hardware Connection Service installed? If Hardware Connection Service is not found in N.A. then try the link on this page : Hardware Connection Service download

Thank you all. I have been working with NI and it seems the keyboard may be faulty. I purchased an open box s88 mk3 and perhaps previous owner had the same issue. The other thing NI mentioned is my computer, although up to date for windows 10 is Old where perhaps not compatible. I am returning the s88 and getting new and purchase new computer as well. Hopefully all this will work out. BTW, I don't think NI should be using C USB for both power and data, as perhaps the previous owner suppled power to the wrong input and fried the board! No need for this confusion.

The dedicated power port most likely is only for the cases where the USB-C port might not supply power enough through the data port. Also then there can maybe be cases where the data cable can not supply power so that the dedicated power port is of extra help. Anyway , the S88 use more power than the smaller models why it is suggested to always use a dedicated power supply for that model - I even do that for my S61 Mk2 though it should not be necessary.

I don't think that the keyboard will 'fry' from attaching USB-C power to the data port since the keyboard is made to be able to be powered by USB-C. In fact the USB protocol that the S-Series Mk3 uses is only USB2 and not even USB3.x.x as one would expect , and USB-C can in fact be used with as slow a protocol as that also. So I am rather sure that one of the reasons that the USB-C plug were chosen were that the USB-C port is certified at a higher power rating than the old USB (2.0) A port .

Great that you manged to get the problem solved. Hopefully it will all work nicely when you get the next new keyboard 🙂
