MIDI Scene change recording into Cubase 14

Hi folks,

I have stumbled across an issue that I seemed have working some years ago, I am new to MacOS as well so there could be a quirk there but hear goes.

So the way I used to work with Cubase and Maschine was to have the DAW record the scene changes I was doing live, by switching scenes on the Maschine MK3 controller, and it recorded those scene changes as a MIDI track in cubase. I know about the Preferences where you select Scene change as MIDI note, and I can get scense to change from a separate midi controller, but why can I not use the Maschine controller directly, to output those MIDI notes to change the scenes? Has this feature been removed?

When I am changing the scenes on the Maschine controller I see no MIDI data coming through on the midi monitor in Cubase

    Hello,

as far as I know that's the way it works and worked, a midi output with changing scenes (if enabled of course) would be great. But I can test again on my windows PC with cubase.

You can change Scenes from the M+controller when you select MIDI change, you can control all 3 controls Scene, Selection and Lock States and I I am using it that way for a few years.

Having ability to play and place lock states in the Linear time line is amazing feature because it's Automation Dozens of different parameters. I use a MIDI cable 5 Pin MIDI in and out so that the connected 1-16 is selected as an input on the Group and channel.

In Cubase 14 it is literally the same principle, I send MIDI from Maschine VST in Cubase on a separate MIDI channel that is connected to the selected channel selected for the trigger Scene. Everything is working via Maschine VST I can only imagine that you didn't try with Plugin Instrument Maschine and I think that it is important to connect MIDI out from the Machine and MIDI in Cubase 14 and it's same thing with all other DAW's including Logic and AU on MacOS in any other combination of DAW and OS.

MK3 - you can do quick change to MIDI controller mode and Maschine but triggering from the DAW MIDI channel.

I didn't know that it's possible to record MIDI from the MK3 directly by changing Scenes, I know how to control MIDI change only from DAW and program change control.

I use them in Standalone mode triggering from the Maschine.
