Trying to figure out if this is even possible.

I really like writing music with certain instruments that I have on a Korg keyboard, but I also want a midi representation of the notes that I’m playing. Is there a way for me to write and sample using my Korg, but then have the notes be mapped out in midi on my Maschine MK3(Maschine2)

    Hello,

you could record the midi notes first and then playing them back through the korg and record the audio. This way you could correct some notes, if necessary, before sampling them. Then mute one of the tracks, or disconnect the korg and use the samples only, something like that.

When asking such questions then it's always a very good idea to be a little more specific as to what is the 'my Korg' . If your 'Korg' is a synth then it is likely that your 'Korg' am able to record midi files on device and then export these files using the SD-Card (?) and then import those midi files into the Maschine 2 software.

Also then no matter what then your 'Korg' most likely is also able of transmitting Midi into your computer in which case then you could probably also record the Midi directly into the computer using most any free/cheap DAW while playing the keyboard .

But most basically then what is the 'my Korg' ? I am most certainly not the most knowledgeable here on any of this but the more accurate and relevant information that you give people here the better people are able to try to assist.

What Korg keyboard do you have?

If it has a MIDI output, as suggested you can connect it into your PC via both MIDI and the audio output (if you have a MIDI input available to your computer) then you can send the MIDI channel to a track and the audio channel to another track and record both. Of course the MIDI track will produce no sound until you load a plugin on it OR ssend that MIDI back out to your keyboard and it can playback from the keyboard. That is what MIDI was designed for.

So depending on the keyboard you have (if it has MIDI which I am pretty sure all Korg keyboards have MIDI) and if you have MIDI I/O on your computer (again I assume you would or you wouldn't ask the question) then yes it is possible, just requires some experimentation on your end.
