I use Machine+ in standalone mode only, so don't have the Machine 3 software. My question is: Will the forthcoming Machine 3 update for M+ be a free or paid update? If paid update, how much?
I'ma bringing a camp bed and fridge! 🤣
It will exist by the end of this year aka within the next 6 or so months.. And by then, if you upgrade and 3.0 turns out to be a hot mess, you've already pooped your pants (and messed up potential gigs etc). Better to prepare for it now than not to
I wonder if even resetting the whole device will help..
There will still be plenty of testers.. but they will not be people who are thinking of using their M+ for playing gigs
Quite a dramatic situation…
Imagine if all the musicians in history should have had to buy all their instruments in duplicates…
We would probably be without music now
At this point, I'm thinking of going acoustic. :P
No. what I think is that maybe Stevie Wonder learned on a single harmonica.
Probably borrowed from one friend because he could not afford to buy one 😂
And Elton John learnt to play piano and love music on his teacher piano, before even buying one.
Are you really saying that all musicians started their careers with “at least four touring piano systems”?
Or that YouTubers are representative of the history of music?
Then… if you want to compare nowadays lucky guys like us who buy a lot of stuff just for their hobby… go for it… but I’m quite sure many musicians (that then became famous later) spared for months (maybe even renouncing to various meals) just to buy a half broken organ. Then, since they were good, they started to make money… and only THEN they bought a very expensive Hammond. And… a single one, not duplicates of it.
Even worst: probably for half of their careers they used the studios/labels instruments, not even owning them. Or the church ones, like in the case of Stevie Wonder
🤔
As far as I know, it's still planned for release in Q2 — probably in the first weeks of summer.
Yeah, I can't see this being released anytime soon. The last update took so long to happen, I wouldn't be surprised if the next update gets a December/January release. I be more than happen to be proven wrong, but NI tend to over promise and under deliver.
I'm struggling to understand your sentence, but if Chris has posted something today - where?
Here (the last paragraph):
Out of curiosity (and to improve myself): what is wrong with my sentence? ☺️
Edit: I notice now that copying a link to a post doesn’t make of it an interactive link to open the thread. This is the thread where he posted:
I think they’re really focused on Maschine 3 and Maschine+ right now. Akai isn’t sitting idle either, and the competition is stronger than ever.
what does this remind you of….
a person using Maschine with no quantize on — every move’s offbeat, jittery, and out of sync. One minute they’re laying down a smooth groove, next they’re undoing it like they never meant to press record. Just when you think they’ve locked into a tempo, they switch the BPM
That’s the thing, I don’t wanna hang out joking about things so I’m not perceived as rude. I should be able to tell someone that, ”I see what you mean, but you could also…” without risking being called rude because someone gets offended because someone has the nerve to disagree? When people take their liberty to write and express wishes, complaints and stuff, they should also be open to people actually pointing them to a solution. But instead of seeing the solution some people choose to be blind to the solution just to be able to keep complaining. Black Mirror stuff right here.
To have an issue with versions being different atm is one thing, but to blame the version disparity as the sole reason why one won’t perform live and trust m+ for live sets and its such a huge issue that the planet stops in its orbit, now that is just lame and frankly quite obnoxious. I’m offended by that I guess ;)
yeah I get your point. Guess I’m part of that loop.
I know, but what platform was this posted on?
