Remove older instances of Kontakt from Native Access
Hi,
Does anyone know how to remove older instances of Kontakt (in my case, 6 and 7) from Native Access? I'm doing the auto migration option and have manually deleted all the relevant files from these apps. Yet they still appear in Native Access with the orange exclamation point alert and a prompt to "repair." This is visual clutter and I want to remove it. For some reason NI doesn't give you the option to uninstall.
I've asked NI support multiple times in email threads and they just won't answer this question.

From the "M2" in your profile it looks like you might be on a Mac? Can you confirm if you're on Mac or PC as the advice above isn't relevant if you're not on a PC.

I'm on a Mac. Sorry about the slow reply, apparently this forum doesn't email me to let me know there has been a response to my question.

There should be notification settings if you select edit your profile and then select notification settings on right side of interface. Possibly then this link could transport you directly to your settings ?

there’s gotta be a hidden file , that’s the issue I had, kinda a copy of a file thats listed to be deleted in the guide
Have you moved the shared folder to an external drive , check the shared folder on the Mac hdd,

fyi the file is called kontakt , not kontakt 6 , kontakt 7 is labelled kontakt 7
There’s was a thread that helped me , but I can’t find it

Hi, thanks. Yeah, I am aware that it's called Kontakt. I removed all of those files when I switched to 7 so that I could do the auto migration thing. But it still shows up in Native Access and in NA it's called Kontakt 6. Looking to remove that and Kontakt 7 from NA (I'm now upgraded to Kontakt 8)

I’m with you , I had the exact same problem, , but I was only uninstalling version 6 , I remember finding a extra file not listed in the uninstall guide , which I found after reading a thread , I’ll see if I can find it

Here you go , it was an extra json file

I just did a similar thing on my Windows system after upgrading to K15CE. I uninstalled the older Guitar Rig version, Kontakt 7 and Kontakt (6).
I don't think you can remove (as in not show) them completely from NI because you own them, and NI shows what you own.

the post where he’s says solved , you have to translate the location for Mac
But it should Mac hdd /user/shared/NI / installed products, or something

you’re correct , as in you can’t remove them from native access, but you can uninstall, and after they will show up as - install , but if you dont uninstall correctly, they show up as - repair

Okay, in that folder I found both the Kontakt 7 and Kontakt Application json files. I removed them. When I opened Native Access, Kontakt 7 was now gone, which is great, but Kontakt 6 is still there and I noticed that the json file regenerated in the folder I had deleted it from

Check all the other places from the uninstall guide , see if they’ve auto generated too , if they have , delete everything again

That fixed it. Much appreciated!
