Indeed Serato now lists it for a DJ Pro Paid Upgrade. Even DVS is possible.

just got a serato license, the Z2 pad buttons light up the serato cue colors and orange, if I press a cue pad 1,2,3,4 it switches to orange and I have to press shift button to light the serato cue colors. Anyone knows what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

Doesn't sound like an user issue. I can test tomorrow in case you don't figure out by then.

Perhaps Traktor is still opened alongside Serato (windows limitation issue with midi ports).

I understand and appreciate making Serato available amongst the entry level machines- to try and bring in people who have a burgeoning interest, but why oh why don't they run it out across the board? I stumped up for an S4 mk3 and Traktor Pro 4, but am having to consider buying a smaller entry level pioneer or something just so I can play alongside Serato Dj's. Most frustratingly, I got rid of my Z2 and clearly could have done with keeping hold of it.

Are there any plans for rolling out serato use to us S4 users? Now the Pioneer monopoly plan is in the dust surely just embrace all systems (ore certainly field leaders) and then you can choose what you like. NI would doubtless get more customers that way too.

The refusal to map the higher end models is really limiting and if anything is likely to make me jump ship to Serato it's the possibility of me going out and buying a lovely Denon or something.

Has anyone out there in Traktor-land got a ray of hope for us?

I adore Traktor. I have been loyal user (fool) for many many years. It's without the doubt best software for electronic music.

I'm also an open format DJ. Does Native Instruments think that I would manually pitch ride Yugoslavian rock records for 6 hours? I'm very proud of my beatmatching skills, but, to be honest, I absolutely refuse to showcase them except for rare instances where I have to save butchered transition.

It's 2025 man, buddy of mine opens Serato Studio, does dynamic analysis, and has the whole night to play with cue points, quantized loops and be creative instead of struggling with basic beat aligning. Even Rekordbox has dynamic analysis (haven't tested that personally). Ableton's warping is excellent too.

What's the deal with the effects? I get it, they are powerful when configured and so on. Where is some kind of simple mode to just trigger it occasionally and have sound colored a bit?

Don't get me started on real time stems. Light mode? Fix your software we paid for! I regret purchasing S4 MK3. Thankfully Nuo Stems (by @DJ NUO) exist and pulled me out of losing even more money on second hand selling of new unit. Of course, I had to pay for Nuo after all expenses for S4 MK3, it's not a Native Instruments offical app.
