How to make one-shot samples automatically cue
I don't use the remix decks much, but I do use them for jingles when broadcasting on the radio. When I load the sample, the corresponding button on my Z2 lights, and I can trigger the sample - all fine so far. But when the sample finishes, the button turns white, and if I want to re-trigger the sample, I have to press the button first for it to change back to colour, then again to trigger the sample. How to I change the deck so that when the sample has played, it is cued ready to play again?

In the manual it says that you can set the secondary cue buttons functions (activated by shift+deck button) to 'sample retrigger" in the preferences.
See page 67:

Thanks - I think this gives me what I want. Just a minor point - the secondary mode is activated by pressing the deck button twice (which then flashes to indicate it's in secondary mode).
In this mode, the button still turns white after playback, but a single click will then retrigger the sample.
Thanks very much for your help.

Hello,
do you use a 3rd party mapping or th original from native? You can go to the mapping editor in traktor, search for thise buttons and check if they are in gate mode, not toggle mode, and change it to gate if neccessary.

Thanks for replying - I am using the default mapping, so the mappings for these buttons do not appear in the mapping editor.

Some of these controllers allow to overwrite some functions by setting up a new mapping set midi in and out to Z2 and midi learn the button, set it the button, as mentioned, to gate. There is also a function where you say overwrite original mapping or something like that.

It has been a while so I cannot recall correctly but I think that Z2 triggers the sample and then Mutes/Unmutes it?
If that's the case then you will need to override factory mapping by adding new cell trigger commands. And also modifier on your A/C and B/D switches to track the pad modes selected. Otherwise you will trigger hotcues+samples at the same time.

I just checked on my Z2 and I was on right track.
Press = trigger sample
Press again = stop sample + rewind to sample start.
You might need to create a custom mapping for Remix Decks.
