I cut get my Mac to recognize my S88. Native Access accepted the authorization code but the keyboard is still prompting me to set it up. What am I doing wrong?

Have you installed the Hardware Connection service from Native Access? Can you let us know what version of MacOS you're running as well please?

I've not tried 15.4 yet, suppose I should really get onto it! What's the prompt you're getting on the keyboard?

It keeps asking me for the registration code. I've entered it 5 times now with no luck. Wondering if my mac mini isnt picking up the keyboard. N ever had so much trouble setting up a product before.

I'm using mine here on a Mac mini M4 Pro. I'm using a single USB-C cable from one of the front USB ports to the keyboard. It's not the original cable, just a 10G USB3 cable. I think I tried the TB5 port on the back and it didn't work, but that was last year sometime so might be mistaken.

Also, check that the NIHostIntegrationAgent has Local Network access in the Privacy and Security settings on your Mac. That's required for hardware control.

I'll give those ideas a shot. Will update you. Hopefully, I'll have good news!

Just checked the network access on my mac mini and NI Host Integration Agent does have access. Not sure if getting a new cable will help address the issue.

Starting to wonder if I should try to authenticate the keyboard from a different conputer then re-connect it to my recording setup.

Starting to wonder if I should try to authenticate the keyboard from a different conputer then re-connect it to my recording setup.

If you do that then here is the link to use when re-connecting : How Can I Use My Kontrol S-Series MK3 on a Different Computer?

Be sure to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS

Otherwise , you might be looking at getting and trying a self powered USB-C hub with PD (power delivery) and quality cables that support both power and data transfer.

Or alternatively try an USB-C to A port adapter and then also attach an USB-C PSU capable of PD (my personal suggestion is 20W to compensate for any eventual PSU quality issues)

The S88 also ought to be powered by it's own USB-C PSU with PD capability .

Do you have the NI Hardware Connection Service installed?

Note that the host integration agent is not used in the MK3 series, only the hardware connection service.

Have you installed the latest version of the firmware? You can download from here:

    https://ni.de/kontrol-update

Also make sure that the Hardware Connection Service is running and that the Kontrol MK3 can see it. Note that the hardware connection service should be started automatically when you open Komplete Kontrol software for example.

You can verify that the Kontrol Mk3 is connected to the HCS by going to Settings > general > agent version on the device, it should say version 1.9.4. If it doesn't, try a different USB-C cable, and/or a USB-C hub instead of connecting directly.

Brief derailment just to be sure to give correct informations in my future attempts to help:

Host integration agent is not used in MK3 series but it’s still needed for Komplete Kontrol software, correct?

I still have to get a new usb C cable to see if that works.
