where is the search function for instruments in kontakt 8?
hello everyone! a few days ago I switched from kontakt 5 to kontakt 8, the problem I'm facing in k8 is that I can't find the search function for instruments, by name as it exists in k5 or as there is the search function for a file in Windows, this is to make myself more understandable. I specify that I don't use instrument libraries, I use nki, nkm instruments or banks with nki instruments, personal, which I have all piled up in a folder. in kontakt 5 I loaded the folder with instruments into the database, I updated that folder and I could search for them by the name of the instruments. in kontakt 8 I can't find this function. either I don't know how to use k8 or the function doesn't exist.

Hello, I ask the people at NI to help me change the version of Kontakt 8. For me, K8 is useless and since I spent the money, I want an earlier version of Kontakt 6-7, whichever has the function I referred to.

You would have to submit a ticket to Purchase Support:
https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/sections/360000092537-Order-and-Payment
And see what they can do for your situation.
What I can tell you - (without using support) is that Kontakt 6 and 7 are no longer available for purchase.
You would need to explore the third party seller market to get a copy of one of those. Or just continue using Kontakt 5 like you did in the past.

@Geky : I did not try to avoid your question as you accuse me of in another thread, I just didn't know exactly what you were looking for.
The Database view is only available in Kontakt 6 and earlier versions , reference : Using the Kontakt Database
It is understandable that you are frustrated with the retiring of the Database View however then a lot of newer Kontakt libraries require at least Kontakt 7 , and many require the newest version of Kontakt , e.g. Kontakt 8.
If you want to contact N.I. in connection with the issue then you can contact N.I. Kontakt Support
In case that you need guidance contacting support : Please read : how to get support !

I see that you are a moderator in an NI community, I think you should know very well the functions of NI software, both the new and the old ones. I expressed myself quite clearly what problem I am facing, but those who don't want to don't understand. Probably what NI wants is to sell their libraries and they don't know how to advertise. It's no problem that I lost 300 euros, that's life! We are still losing but it seems crazy to me to remove such a useful function, but NI makes midi keyboards without transposers, so I'm not surprised.

@Jeremy_NI , perhaps you better give an official statement here ?

There appear to be a misunderstanding here. Moderators are not N.I. employees and we do not have any special direct access to N.I. support system or any direct special access to old software.
Further more then when you become a N.I. Moderator then you do not get a free time machine so that you can travel back and learn about all the software that was and existed in time before.
And still I managed to find the reason for your experience and supply you with the correct answer when you were clear enough about what the problem was by posting the screenshots (you were not clear enough when you accused me of trying to avoid the question in another thread)

Once you were clear enough as you were in this thread then I directed you to the department responsible for N.I. Kontakt Support which is all that I can do. I am not responsible for any of this , you will have to contact N.I. Kontakt Support.

Again , I am not responsible and Moderators have no say in the design of Kontakt so it does not matter if I agree with you or not. All I know is that from a general standpoint then N.I. program designers appear to have been trimming down by removing support for what their 'user data' indicated were features that were not used by many. In other cases then support might have been put back in the queue of development for same reasons. Again , if you want to provide user feedback directly to N.I. then you can contact N.I. Kontakt Support.

The designers and architects should get their a**s kicked, all the fireworks that they put in Kontakt 8. They only have commercial interest, I do thousands of operations and clicks in a musical project, I don't need any more and scroll through Kontakt until I find the instrument I want. I read what my rights are and I have no reason to contact NI support, it doesn't help me at all, I don't get my money back. So from my side you can close the topic, if you want you can also close my account on NI. All the best!
