Sudden latency on Maschine 2 in plug-in mode

Member Posts: 48 Member

Hello, I often have a latency problem that appears without warning on my Maschine 2 plug-in (here on Cubase).
I drop vocal samples into Maschine 2 and then slice them by syllables to make melodies. Everything's fine when suddenly I start experiencing latency when I play my pads or when I click on my Maschine 2 plug-in. The strange thing is that I don't have latency when I play my recorded MIDI track on my DAW, but I do when I add new samples, or when I restart my project. I tried setting my M+ to MIDI mode, but nothing helps, and my buffer is at 128, so it's pretty low...

Thanks

Is it on Mac or PC? What spec and OS? and what VST are you using for pads? When I was on windows I had serious performance issues with Maschine which were resolved when I moved to Mac, depending on the VST there can be some issues hosting through Maschine.

Also do you get the issue when using it with Maschine stand alone (i.e. not as a plugin)

    hi @bfarrellnz, I'm on Mac, Ventura 13.7.1

I'm not using VST, only use audio sample. I've not this problem with standalone mode. In fact when I create a new Cubase projet the problem disappears, so it must be the project I'm working on. But even when I restart the project or my computer it doesn't change anything so it's still annoying.

'I don't have latency when I play my recorded MIDI track on my DAW'

Maybe you are using a plugin that adds latency, but when you play it back the DAW will compensate for that?

Sorry I misread pads and was thinking you were playing a pad sounding VST. I'm not sure whats going on, I've not had doing the same in Ableton Live, is there anything in the midi track modifying the input before it gets to the plugin? If you add a new midi track in the problematic project and add a new instance of Maschine to it, do you get the same issue if you load a kit? I haven't used cubase for years so I don't know if your midi/audio settings are stored for each project.

No problem ;) I have just tasted a new instance of Maschine 2 with a new midi track and the problem is gone, but he is still here with my first instance
