Battery 5 ever comming? Or a new update to Battery 4?

Hey there, I recently started working again with Battery 4, but quickly was very frustrated since working with it without Komplete Kontrol doesn't make sense anymore.

But since at the same time when I have multiple instances of KK open my daw crashes, so I have to use it in it's vst version.

So what really sucks in Battery 4 is the browser:

-searching is a nightmare, you never have the option to look via genre.

-creating your own tags isn't possible and so I have to save each instance as it' own thing which is realy unhandy

So my biggest feature wish would be a browser like in Kontakt 8 which is really handy

Battery 4 has just been updated. Mostly (only) fixes and compatibility, but I suppose this is what we will get

Honestly, UI Scalingand the Maschine (KK 2.x) browser is all they need to do with Battery 4.

That would make most users happy.

I cannot believe that they still have not udpated the browser. It's borderline useless in its current state.

What really makes me furious is that I can't sort per expansion, search via genre or pull up favourites faster like in Kontrol and Kontakt 8 or even Guitar Rig. I love its sounds and possabilities, but on it's own it's so hard to work with it

I think Native drop Battery development since they created Maschine software and hardware. But unfortunately, users as myself come from Battery 3 wich was able to import AKAI MPC drumset and pursuie with battery 4. The other point i would still use Battery instead of Maschine is the simplicity of this sampler and the all-in-one ability. Like yall said i wish NI updated it since years, particularly the browser AND the Save/Load wich lose banks adresses very frequently.
I was surprised to see an update very recently but nothing about mention above have changed.

Then keep Battery 3 or 4 (or whatever) for importing that content.

I think Native Instrumetns needs to make a Maschine 3 Sampler plug-in that is just the sampler from Maschine - driven by MIDI from the host DAW. That would alleviate some of the issues people have with the Maschine 2/3 Software being "too much" to use as a "sampler." It is a lot when used as a plug-in, especially without the ability to resize the plug-in (unless M3 has changed that aspect of it).

That being said, the drum samplers in most DAWs is more than good enough, so I haven't used Battery in years - at this point - other than loading Expansion Kits that I summarily port over to the DAW's stock drum sampler (then delete the Battery instance).

As for importing content, that's fine. I used to keep AIR Structure 2 installed for importing EXS24 and HALion patches (it's actually pretty clutch for that), as those were often in sample packs from LoopCloud.
