I cleared the collection and deleted (moved) the backups, so not sure where it would have gotten the data....

Yes, they're not in the collection file, look in the other folders in there

Maybe it is a Traktor 4 thing. Traktor 3 seems to work fine.

I COMPLETLY uninstalled Traktor Pro 4. There were no traces of it on the computer.

I re-installed and imported the music Library. The collection is 81MB in size, and still freezes when loading tracks or searching.

For giggles, I installed Traktor Pro 3. After importing the collection, the file size is still high, around 78MB, but searching is much faster and loading deck the interface freezes only about 1 second (compared to the 2 or 3 seconds for pro 4)

I have not been able to stop the program from doing a partial analyzation without closing it before it is complete.

Uninstalling does nothing for settings/cache etc.

Documents > Native Instruments > Traktor *Version Number* > Stripes & Transients

    are where they're stored

By "completely uninstalled" I meant I removed all traces of traktor and NI from the computer. Folders, registry items.... EVERYTHING.

I am not hearing crackling or any other audio issues. Just freezing when loading to playlist or deck and delays in searching

Hi @Gudlite I spoke with the Traktor team about your case and they all agreed that your XML file is unusually large. Traktor usually handles 60K-track collections just fine, but the file size makes us think there might be some corruption. Could you send it over to our customer care team? We’ll take a closer look and help figure it out: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/categories/360000053737-Product-Support

I will send you the collection. One thing I do know is that BOTH my desktop and my laptop have COLLECTION files around the same size. This kinda tells me they must be getting the data from the same source, and that would be the music collection itself. The Library is imported off the laptop to the desktop, so any tags and such would go with them.

Hopefully we figure something out cause all in all, I really do like Traktor (only program I have used consistently since going digital!!)

The only way I could find to contact support was via the Chatbot…. I uploaded the file via that. Just wanted to confirm it was received.

@Gudlite We're on it. Feel free to share your collection through the same email thread thanks!

The people who received the ticket haven't read the thread lol... They just blamed my "low memory and poor cpu power" which I have explained here is not the issue

Been watching this thread with a bit of interest and have a question on this:

"The computer is a Dell G series gaming laptop: core i5, 16GB RAM, dedicated video MORE than enough to handle Traktor"

Exactly which "Dell G Series" laptop is this? Like what year? What exact CPU?

There is a vast difference between a 2020 i5 CPU and 2024-2025 i5 CPU. And 16 GB of RAM is just barely enough to run Windows 11 properly.

If this machine is not a very current model - support may actually be bang on with their assessment.

If you can provide exact specs - it would help determine where this is breaking down for you

I will be providing the info, don't worry. But if this machine cannot handle it, not can my desktop, then I am moving to a program that does video on lower powered machines with no issue.

No, it is not a newer model. It's a 2.5 year old one. But I am not buying a new laptop every year cause traktor wants it.

Their response is a standard tech response (one I have even given as an IT professional) however the tone in which they made the statement (very accusatory) needs improvement.

Not sure where you get 16gb ram is not enough to run windows. That is incorrect. Windows 11 needs a minimum of 4gb for standard use. 8gb is preferred. 16gb+ for high performance use. My pagefile is almost nonexistent because windows 11 utilizes ram better than any previous version.

That set aside, my newer core i7 with 32gb ram does the exact same thing. Only common denominator: 80+mb collection file.

Yep - totally understand. But do remember that even a year between CPUs can make a huge difference. And - it goes without saying that NI would not be testing a new version of Traktor 4 on any machine from 2022.

Understood. This must be some other anomaly that is unique to your environment. Good luck with the investigation - hope you get it sorted.
