i can share how to do it the old way, for me new way is clean and attractive but using one group with one sound and pitching pads up or down it's easy to find perfect chords.

Hey now that NI and Akai are besties, maybe we can get a way to import/convert Akai's *.progression files that they've had for years (so there are loads already out there)?

you can use one sound in empty group and connect all pad's to a sound.

that's the old way to make costume chords and i am faster using the old way/ a trick to say.

every pad can play any pitch so in combination it could be ajusted to play chords.

This new feature or the new way to do it should be doing at least i hope and i think it will fair to have that feature on Mikro too.

I found the files and can edit them in a text editor but it doesn't change the names in Maschine...

anyone else have trouble with that?

Please detail exactly what you're doing when you say "edit them in a text editor". What are you changing?

So close… not being able to rename, and instead, having to go to a file burried on my system, close/restart machine to have them show up on the interface is not awesome. Not having custom chords drove me away from using Maschine.. i don't recall, but there are other 'rename' capabilities elsewhere on the device, no? (Certainly there are in the software).. hopefull that this was just a PM decision to get the capability out sooner rather than later, and they follow up w/ an update to make this more friendly.

just changed "chd1" to "test" and saved the file. Nothing changed after closing and restarting Maschine

What editor did you use? Maybe it changed the format or the file name.

I think renaming things in text editor is outdated.
Is NI lacking the know how to do these things?

standard editor in Windows 11...I didn't change .json file name... doesn't work for me 🤷

I wonder what was behind the decision to make the max number of User chords in a set 12 instead of 16, leaving the top four squares just blank?

So glad to have User Chords now, however, seems counter-intuitive that you cannot input the chords from a keyboard. Would be so much more usable.
