Scrolled thru the thread after asking for help on here a while back to see if there was anything new on what I'd reported and while I love what I'm seeing it kind of feels like those of us using Roland rackmount gear are being left out because none of what I'm seeing helps with our dilemma. 😅

I'm still looking to setup my Integra-7 and while a bit of information that I received from a moderator was useful, the other part of his/her comment was ..dismissive. Anyhow, I've spent a fair amount of time looking into MIDI programming & working to understand the Integra-7 MIDI implementation Chart. Since then, I was able to setup a good amount of parameters (ADSR, Cutoff, Resonance, etc.) and it's cool!! That said, the ability to change banks directly from the keyboard would be amazing and fairly close to making this keyboard a dream come true for other rack mount romper users & myself. Right now it's a pain and ergonomically stressful to change anything from the rack.

In an attempt to resolve the issue and find a workaround, I've noticed that my MPC does a GREAT job at giving me the power to set this all up via MIDI. That said, this would look better setup on my Kontrol S61 and be one less thing I need to do on the MPC. If I relied solely on my MPC (likely possible, but makes the setup look less cool and not something I WANT lol) I wouldn't need my NI Kontrol S61 and would likely go for something smaller or something else that's compatible with my 'in the box' needs with the new implementation of NKS on 3rd party hardware — I digress. So, when I did a comparison of the two, I seen how each handles MIDI and identified gaps I noticed between them when creating MIDI templates. Firstly, I'm offered the ability to assign both Controller Numbers & MSB/LSB on the MPC. However, I'm only offered the ability to assign Controller Numbers on the Kontrol S61. I use the word 'only' very loosely because I am extremely thankful for the work you guys put in for me to be able to use this board in standalone.

Anyhow, I think the issue is and could be resolved by implementing the ability to assign MSB & LSB when creating a template. If there are any existing parameters that could act as such, please let me know. However, I've attempted to create a parameter on both pots & buttons to no avail.

If not, do we know if there are any plans to implement this in a future update? I love this keyboard & owned both the MK1 & MK2. The MK3 having standalone ability is already amazing and I'm sure really does the job for most, so it'd be cool to see this addressed.

Banks are pretty much presets themselves in a sense that house smaller presets (maybe that makes sense?).

Just as an example (to change a bank):

    • MSB - controls the bank category (Acoustic, synth, etc.)
    • LSB - controls the preset type (Factory Tone, User Tone)
    • Program Number - changes the preset/ sound (this is already implemented on Kontrol by assigning 'Controller Number'. While there are banks with 128+ presets, allowing the ability to edit MSB/LSB will allow control over that as well.)

CC 0 and 32 are MSB/LSB for bank switch if you need further help just ask and we might write somewhere else via pm maybe.

I've got a template that controls the banks and presets on my Roland FA which is similar to Integra. As above MSB/LSB are standard CC. You just need to make sure you reset the LSB to go to the first preset as ideally they both get sent.

I do this by setting up an 'enter' button which sends the first program change value.

There's so many banks on there, that it's not all that easy though, MSB/LSB bank selection with a text for each combo would be nice but I can't see NI implementing it - who knows though.

I appreciate it. I was thinking exactly what - I think - you’re saying, which is that there’s some button combo that needs to be created. If you’re willing to share a screenshot of what you mention, I’d appreciate it. It’d be nice to see if I could build upon it. Feel free to PM me.

I’ve known this. The problem is, once they’re assigned there’s no straight forward way to change then once assigned.

For example, I create a MIDI control with number CC0 (MSB) and a value that matches a bank. I can make it any number of available Control types, and nothing will happen until I adjust a program control. Then the same is to follow for number CC32 (LSB). There’s a series of button presses that need to follow in order for any changes to take place and it’s very unclear on what

Maybe bones midi translator could help here, you input one midi message and come midi translator outputs LSB/MSB an PC 000 at the same time (if I understand you correctly that's needed?)

Yeah you'd need one of their standalone boxes though, if i'm going through the DAW there's much better options. This is for standalone/computer-less use.

no the midi translator is a software, this should also work, but then you, of course need a computer, then the box might be the better option for some cases
