Are there any experts that have gone through the trauma of moving all their music software to a new windows PC and can advise on the best approach? I have Cubase pro 13 with GA, Halion, Absolute, GA etc expansions, Komplete 14, Spitfire LABS, Impact Soundworks Fredonia organ (Kontakt) , soft synths like Vital. and Waves Element I’ll be moving from windows 10 on the old to 11 on the new PC.
As this is a NI forum I guess I'd better stick to NI transfer.
What of Kontakt interface preferencesd (eg. midi options), custom presets (eg. Massive, Monark, Super8 etc)
I’ve found some customisations are in the Roaming and Documents folders
eg4 C:\Users\MYName\documents\Native Instruments\Massive\Favorites
are there whole windows directories I can copy or I have to track down the right file for each VSTi or feature when I discover something doesn't work on my new PC as it did in the old?
I’d like to move Kontakt libraries (and Steinberg) data content without having to re download as it’s a huge amount of data. There are youtube vids about copying Kontakt libraries though one person said the relative location needs to stay the same , even the drive letter. This mostly wont be the case so would it be far safer to re-download it?
Feeling advanced trauma about this so would be extremely grateful of any advice.
