Moving Kontakt Libraries to a New Hard Drive

Due to running out of space for sound sets on my 4TB SSD and I have installed an 8TB SSD and want to redirect all of the Kontakt libraries to the new SSD so that they are recognized by my DAW. All of my Kontakt libraries and all other 3rd party sound sets are located on my 4TB SSD and nothing else. I have copied all the files from the 4TB drive to the 8TB drive. Should I have done that or should I have kept the 8TB SSD blank prior to redirecting the libraries and soundset to the 8TB SSD prior to redirecting them? I have contacted Native Instruments and all I get is AI answers, which do not always answer the quetions correctly.

Here are my chats with NI.

Q. When following the instructions on How to Move a Kontakt Library, the screen I see, attachment 1, is not what is pictured on your website, attachment 2. I see no option to Repair next to the instrument. When I left click on the 40s Very Own – Drums, there is no option to Repair nor to Relocate the library but there are options to Reinstall, and Installation Paths, attachment 3. When I select Installation Paths, attachment 4, it shows the present path of the library. Is it here that I would change the path to the new location or is there another way to move the Kontakt library? If this is the correct way to do it, will the library in the original location be automatically deleted or do I need to manually delete it?

A. Have you been able to install and open the Native Access application? Do you get an error message in Native Access?

Q. No. Allow me to explain. I upgraded my 4TB SSD to an 8TB SSD. I copied all the data from the 4TB SSD to the 8TB SSD, all of which are soundsets and Kontakt libraries. Once that was complete, I uninstalled my 4TB SSD. However, when I open my DAW, it doesn't load any Kontakt sound sets. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

A. To fix the issue, relocate your Kontakt Library using Native Access. Go to Library > Installed > Kontakt, click Repair, then Relocate. Browse to the new location of your library and select the folder. This should resolve the loading issue.

A. To redirect your NI legacy libraries to a new location, follow the steps in the linked article for each specific product, such as KONTAKT, MASCHINE, or BATTERY 3, to update the library paths within the software. Was this helpful?

Q. No.

A. Regrettably, I couldn't find a satisfactory answer. Please click below:

Please fill out the fields below. You can also attach screenshots or photos describing your issue. Just click the paper clip icon below. Which version of Native Access are you using? You can find the version in the "Native Access About" screen that can be opened from the upper "Help" menu in Native Access.

A. To move your Kontakt Library, use the 'Installation Paths' option to change the path to the new location. You will need to manually delete the library from the original location after relocation. Let me know if you need further assistance!

That was the end of the chat but when I attempted to use the 'Installation Paths' option to change the path to the new location, it is grayed out, which does not allow me to change the path.

Anyone out there that can help me navigate this maze, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. I am very disappointed in NI's support. Does anyone know a shortcut to reach a real person either on chat of via email or is chatting with AI the only resource?
