Kontakt player standalone on Mac

Got Kontakt 8 installed on a Mac Mini with OS 12. My DAW is on a separate Mac. I'm using the K8 Player in standalone mode via hardware midi and a Scarlett interface. Emotional Cello works fine, but a couple of my guitar VIs time out after 30 minutes, saying they need the full version of Kontakt.

Is there a Kontakt Player full version, or would I need to install a DAW on the Mac Mini to host the plugin version of Kontakt? If it's the latter, are there any cheap DAWs to host Kontakt? (Reaper?) I'm using Digital Performer for my DAW, but I don't have extra authorizations left to install another copy on the Mac mini. (The OS on my DAW Mac is 10.12, which is too old to host new software.)

Kontakt (Full) and Kontakt Player are one and the same app. It is the License Serial Number that you enter in Native Access on your system that dictates whether the app will operate in Full mode or Player mode.

Kontakt 8 (Full) is a paid standalone package or bundled with Komplete 15 Standard, Ultimate, and Collector's Edition. Komplete Start and Komplete 15 Select come with Kontakt 8 Player license only.

If the instruments time out then it usually means that they're not licensed with NI so they need the full version of Kontakt to run. If you have a licence for the full version of Kontakt you could install that on your Mac Mini to see if that's the problem. The licence agreement allows you two/three installs depending on the product as long as you're not regularly using them both at once. If you're not using Kontakt on your main machine at the same time then you'll be ok.

I paid for the full version of Kontakt 8 and downloaded it. In my applications folder, it says Kontact 8 but when I click on it, I get the Kontakt player. I'm wondering if the "full version" means the plugin, rather than the stand alone player.

I bought Kontakt 8 from Best Service in December, but it's not showing up in the "not registered" list in Native Access. After some googling, the Native Access Mac OS 12 compatibility list shows Kontakt 6 and Kontakt 7, but not Kontakt 8, even though Best Service says Kontakt 8 is compatible with OS 12. I guess I'll contact Best Service to find out next steps. Thanks for your help.

Well… NI sent me Kontakt 7 just now, so maybe it's all good. Thanks for your help.
