I’m quite surprised no one has yet mentioned the elephant in the room, which has not been addressed even with 3.0 rebuild (maybe because it’s not a rebuild):

Ability to “arm” multiple groups at once (I mean, i.e., being able to play (and record) one group with the pads and other groups with the multiple keyboards we will use once NKS will be available for all those brands. Or with any other midi controller, included the Jam). And this in Maschine desktop AND M+.

That “focus is only on one group at a time” is quite limiting, even for a Groovebox, I’m not wanting to transform Maschine in a DAW…

@Chris_NI any words on that even being considered after so many years?

Could you be more specific, perhaps? There are a lot of complaints. Which of them are justified could be the subject of a wider conversation. But your position seems to be far and above that.

@Uwe303 "The keyboard size doesn't matter"

It shouldn't matter - but when USB devices are connected to their hosts, they are identified with VID and PID codes, so the hosts know what they are.

I'd assume that the PID for the larger keyboard would be different as it's not the same product, so if the host is only configured to expect the SL49, the SL61 may not be able to join the party.

Thanks for that Chris. It is good to see most requests for NKS, Maschine (MK3 & +, M2 & M3), KK and Kontrol S MK3 are being considered and worked on (or planned out at least).

The one question that I can't seem to get any answer for though since the opening of the NKS standard is:
How about cross device compatibility & conflicts when multiple devices are connected? Both between Native Instruments Devices, but also say a Kontrol S MK3 and a Novation SL Mk3/Nektar/Akai MPK controller now that they will allow NKS mapping.

I have several NKS compatible devices from Native Instruments (m32, S MK2 & S MK3 keyboard, Maschine Mk3, + even an older S25 MK1 with its 8 displays and an unused Maschine MK2), on top of a Novation SL MK3/Launchkey Mk4 and probably more controllers as they get released.

I know that at the time of the S MK3 release, it wasn't possible to have several NKS compatible devices together (although it would be a much needed feature as you have several of them in various parts of the room/studio), but is this being considered now? worked on? planned?
I can only imagine the deluge of enquiries about this as NKS compatibitily starts getting rolled out by other manufacturers.

Also, if the EOLed S MK1 series (and Maschine MK1/2 series) are being retired due to not being "smart enough from a hardware stack point of view" compared to the S MK3, how come some of the controllers from other manufacturers are able to handle NKS? Is there still no way to repurpose such equipment which we'd been told was no good beyond KK 2.9.6?

I have four main wishes for the upcoming future of Maschine 3(+). But I don't know if this is the place to post them.

I agree with @Sunborn so I edited this post and posted my feature requests here:

    Bring back the JAM?

The JAM touch strips are magic. why stop making them?

I had the same problem and contacted NI tech support. They changed a registration oon my account, and now it works… Contact them.

It is not wrong to do so, but in my opinion, it is not the right place. This post (and every similar announcement) is already a big, over-complicated mess-up and most comments are pointing to completely different directions (and many, are totally off topic too) i think…

So if we want to have results and solutions and help the developers and ourselves, i suggest instead of a ton of lost comments on various threads, to use specific threads for the requests, instead of overcrowding the News announcements.

I prefer to have my News clean and my Requests elsewhere. With order and clarity, by category and subject, instead of this chaos here!

If you agree, please post them here, if you like. :-)

Since Traktor is not a part of this post does that mean that development between production and DJing products has been split into two separate teams?

    Hi @Schmapps1

The current plan is to allow users to transfer custom chord files between their desktop and Maschine+ and vice versa. So you can use custom chords created by you or others anywhere you can run Maschine 3.

This has always been the case. There are teams for Traktor and for Kontrol/Maschine. Then another team for Kontakt.
