I'd say this is a pretty accurate wishlist for pretty much everyone in at least the user library community, if not the entire KK userbase. I started a thread with some of the NKS editor feature requests more fleshed out here:

But honestly would be super happy if anything on @Kymeia 's list got implemented this year.

The only other thing I'd add would just be performance improvements for KK - faster load times, fewer crashes, etc.

Thank goodness... I am happy about the M+ update because it seems like it has been collecting dust and I mainly got it to use less of my computer....

Plus the kontrol mk3 update… I am a happy camper

    @Matthew_NI (or @Chris_NI )

Can I ask you (if some Play Series will really come to M+) what made you think that announcing the MPC versions without at least hinting at them coming also to the M+ (in a better version, it seems) was a good idea? In any case you practically announced it anyway a week later… wouldn’t it have been better to plan a better made announcement to avoid any possibility of users feeling sad (to use an euphemism…)?

You even spent the first couple of days answering us “but M+ users have received X instruments with the Central Expansion”, “but we were able to do MPC versions because they are sampled with their sampler”,…

We know NI is famous for wanting to keep everything secret till the last second… but… specially in a case like this, where no new, innovating, astonishing stuff was announced (in the end it’s just a porting), I’m sure a better way to do it could have been found.

Lack of internal communication… or really weird strategy?

Or…third possibility (which I hope is not the case, otherwise we’ll probably see them when I’m already six feet under)… you decided now to make them available also for M+ because of the backlash (which was more than foreseeable). In which case, if you are starting to plan it now, then will come the developing stage, then your testing, then beta, then bugs fixes,…( not to name the stops that will come when teams will switch to other tasks) we will not see them before… forever…(which is unluckily part of Soon, in NI conception).

And…while I’m here…can I ask you if you also thought at porting some “real” instruments? Atm, what M+ is really missing is some more “clean” pianos, violins, breath,… not more “sinthy” sounds.
I’m asking because I think you could sell (for an adequate price) some of those, not because I really need them (luckily you gave us Autosampler and I already took care of my needs in that way).

(Btw: I didn’t add Bass to the list of “real” instruments because your recent decision to stop selling Scarbees makes me think you have something against analog Bass 😂…or that you are planning to release new instruments of this family to sell)

MPE for the MK4 sounds likely. Love it on my Push 3 so expect NI respond with something similar.

Question is when we may see a MK4? The dual screen will likely become a single screen similar to the MK3 keyboards, but hope they go for a touch screen too (and the MPE of course). The MPCs are running laps around Maschine here.

Another question is will we ever see another updated Maschine standalone released with the MK4? From reading all the threads, it seems to be a bit of a hot mess with the Maschine+.

Btw, hope we may see an X-series (Xpression) keyboard with MPE support too.

Is there (or will there be) a time signature per scene feature in Maschine 3?

Maschine + is by definition a beatmaker, drum machine, sequencer & sampler, so can't see what is the purpose of "real" instruments, violins etc. I love real instruments but for those, i use Kontakt or other stuff.

The solution is not to change Maschine + to something different from what it is, but simply to expand it, to use Kontakt libraries (among other things). But this, is already announced on this thread by Chris ("Additionally, we are adding Kontakt 8 support").

Believe me… beats can be made also with “real” instruments. I would even dare to say most of the instruments in hip hop beats are not synths.

Probably you missed A LOT of 90s rap, if you think violins are not fitted for beats 😂😂😂

Or didn’t notice how much piano there is in chill hip hop (that was so popular in last years).

Who won the “best live band” prize for many consecutive years? The Roots… an hip hop group.

It all depends on which type of beats you listen to.

And about the sampler aspect, being used also to make sample beats…guess what kind of instruments are in the Soul and Jazz tracks sampled to make it?

Soulquarian collective without “real” instruments? (and some of the best players of the era, like Pino Palladino, Roy Hargrove, Karriem Riggins, Robert Glasper, D’Angelo and Questlove themselves,… closed for days in Electric Lady Studios (yes, the one founded by Jimi Hendrix) to jam all together )

Thank you but…no, thank you ☺️

Btw: I never asked to “change it to something different”, but to expand it, exactly as you say. And I’m sure many musicians use Maschine to make many different music styles. That’s why we see so many people asking features that would make it closer to a DAW (rightly or not)

@LostInFoundation We build both products and content; the content is typically quicker to build. It would have been ideal to have everything ready at once, sure. But that wasn't the case. It also wasn't even the same teams or disciplines - these are two very distinct efforts.

And I stand by the fact we've made a lot content available (with more coming) on Maschine as well as other places. Maschine Central is nothing to snooze at. Indeed, it contains some of the "clean pianos, violins, breath,… not more “synthy” sounds" that you're after.

Also - there are still several Scarbee bass instruments for sale here, plus a large amount of other bass instruments so don't worry, we haven't forgotten about bass 😉.

A general though: roadmaps also don't pivot that quickly, so what you're hearing about now has already been in progress for some time, and is far from a reaction.

    Understood.

My remark was more about a not so well done announcement (specially if, as you say, everything was already programmed)
