Some of my instruments appear in an "Audio" subfolder in Kontakt 8.

Hi all.

I have placed all of my instruments on a large SSD inside an "Audio" folder. The Native Instruments content resides in "L:\Audio\Native Instruments".

They are displayed correctly in Native Access, but in Kontakt 8, some are located in an "Audio" folder.

The instrument packs in particular are: Action Strings 2, AliciasKeys, and Alicia's Electric Keys. I can load them from this subfolder, but it's hard to know which instrument goes with which tool.

Ashlight and Arkhis are both in that folder as well, but I reinstalled them and they now have their own icons outside (the instruments and tools are still in the "Audio" folder).

How can I move the items out of this subfolder to the root?

I didn't copy the files in the file system; I set the paths in Native Access under Preferences > File Management.

Download Location: L:\Download
Application Location: C:\Program Files\Native Instruments
Content Location: L:\Audio\Native Instruments\Content
VST Location (32 bit): L:\Audio\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 32 bit
VST Location (64 bit): L:\Audio\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit

Thanks a lot for the screenshots, it makes everything simpler to read!

Well, everything is looking normal here. Can you please try resetting Kontakt's database?

    Reinitialize the Kontakt Database

    1. Click the Windows start button at the bottom left of your screen.
    2. Type "%localappdata%" and click the option that appears.
    3. Navigate to the Native Instruments folder.
    4. Then, depending on the Kontakt version you are using, delete the following folder:
      Kontakt 5: "Kontakt 5"
      Kontakt 6: "Kontakt"
      Kontakt 7: "Kontakt 7"
      Kontakt 8: "Kontakt 8"
    5. Start Kontakt in standalone mode (not in your DAW).

If that didn't help, please reach out to our support here, you'll need a specialist: https://bit.ly/NI_support_NA

    Qapla'!

    We have fixed the issue!

After reinitializing the database as per your instructions, most of the libraries were removed from the "Audio" folder, though a few remained.

These remaining few, I reinstalled from Native Access, and they appeared correctly. No more "Audio" folder!

    Thanks Jeremy!

Hey there, it's hard to figure out what the issue is. Can you post sme screenshots to illustrate?

For example, here: "but in Kontakt 8, some are located in an "Audio" folder."

Please also include a screenshot of your general preferences in Native Access and also specific for these problematic libraries (click on the 3 little dots next to the library and choose installation path)

    Hi Jeremy!

Thanks for stepping in to help! It seems I can't post links yet, so you'll have to remove the underscore in the links below (h_ttps =⇒ https)

    h_ttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1f9tUEH_BKBkxK_fqRE8cNspaX1OTL2AN/view?usp=drive_link

This screen shot shows the "Audio" folder and its contents. "Action Strings 2" appears at the top, followed by a few other libraries, incliding Alicia's Keys. Note that those libraries are not amongst the libraries on the left. e.g. "Abbey Road 70s Drummer" should be right after "Abbey Road 60s Drummer", and "Action Strings 2" should be right after "Action Strikes".

This screen shot shows my Native Instruments preferences: General and File Management. I'm sure it's picking up "Audio" from the "L:/Audio" root folder.

    h_ttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1fATp5bIyZBIcrzUXb2SfbRFoPYmMWM24/view?usp=drive_link

This shows my installation paths for the Action Strings 2 library.

Thanks! Let me know if you require any additional information.

@Tekkromancer I've enabled you to post links and more inportantly, you should be able to drag and drop images with png or jpg format directly in the thread, it makes it way more easy to read without the need to open images in a different window. If you could edit your last post with actual images that would be great, thanks!

    Thanks Jeremy.

We're getting close! That approach seemed to work for some of the libraries I had mentioned, but not for all.

e.g. "Alicias Electric Keys" and "Action Strings 2" are listed correctly, but "Alicias Keys" and the "Abbey Road" drummer kits for 70s and 80s are still in the "Audio" folder.

I'll try one more thing and reinstall one of the tools in Native Access and see if that changes anything.

If that doesn't work, I'll reach out to the support specialist.

PS: Apologies for the duplicate post: I couldn't edit the post, and it seemed that the comment that I had added for more context "answered the question", and I worried that people ignore it, thinking that it had been resolved.
