    Well, the change to serialization directly affects the Save state in certain situations.

    The bug was reported, filed, reproduced, worked on, with a fix now in beta.

    Hopefully that's seen as a commitment to support - it is far from apathy, and far from a lack of priority.

    Thank you for that defence; but I must say you originally appeared to downplay just how many customers were experiencing this, so understandably I have to be a little sceptical, at this point, about anything NI says or promises. I don't doubt NI are working on it and it will get fixed, but we don't really know how prioritised it really is, now that 8 is out there and paid for. Personally, I feel it's taking longer than is reasonable.

    Yes, it's the nature of the digital beast to be complex and users are, historically, beta testers, but when a relatively stable app throws up a hitherto stable feature, it seems a little farcical.

    As for this change in serialization, I think we're entitled to ask: was this change even necessary?

    Kontakt is indispensable to me and many others. I hope makes you feel all warm inside. 😘

    I'm having extreme save times with Kontakt 8 as well, but its MUCH more than 10 times longer. I just saved a session with 10 tracks and it took over 2 min.

    Really hope this gets worked out.

I wonder if you would consider using any of us here as beta testers for the update. Not sure if anyone here is a DP user, but that's my main DAW, but I also use and have Logic and Cubase. I would love to test it, if possible.

    @Jeremy_NI is going to follow up with specific users to help test the fix. I'd suggest reaching out to him via DM.

    The release is due out next week, but extra hands to confirm the fix would definitely be appreciated.

    I'm sure the team is already aware of this, but my disk usage where my Kontakt libraries are saved jumps up to ~100% for the time it takes to save when saving my project file in FL Studio. It's as if each Kontakt instance needs to re-read all of the loaded data/samples stored in RAM when saving the project.

    I tried the beta and it seems to fix all the issues. Hope the final gets released this week.

    It's been a total nightmare working with these saving times these last monthes - especially when working against the clock.

    Hey everyone. Kontakt 8.2.0 was released yesterday, bringing a lot of fixes, including the issue this thread is all about:

    FIXED Excessively long wait times when saving/loading DAW projects containing Kontakt

    So go to Native Access and update. Thanks for all the ones who helped out.
