Another slap-in-the-face to us M+ owners from our loveless NI parents.

Soooooo, years go by with us asking please please please allow us to buy M+ compatible variants of the Komplete Keyboard plugins… and what do you guys do to your freakishly loyal M+ (flagship Maschine) owners??

You allow your competitors… MPC/Akai compatibility but not us.

Devices that have much worse specs (besides the touch screen I suppose — which that is subjective) and aren't even freaking NATIVE devices… worst is that they are direct competitors?!?!?!

So you give them new instrument, plugins, and expansions.

Thanks NI… Thanks a lot.

They haven't give them any plugins, the sampler in the MPC is way more advanced (no idea where you get the idea it has worse specs? it doesn't) and as such it has allowed the sound designers who created the Play series to port some of the Play series over to the built in sampler on the MPC, no plugin, just mapped samples with a UI/Macro script.

NI are heavily invested in sound design and sample packs and expansions, why would it possibly be a bad thing for them to support more platforms, they are not your friend, they are a business, and all they want to do is make money, that is their literal purpose.

"all they want to do is make money"

…but they could have chosen to make that money from NI users first!

Plugin, mapped samples, call it what you will - MPC users have it before NI's own customers.

NI users would have insisted to get M+ optimized sound libraries, which they already have for desktop version of Kontakt, for free. And threatened to jump ship otherwise. 😉

Well that is the way Akai do it. Simultaneous release for desktop and standalone for one price.

Even with the stems release, which was staggered (desktop first, standalone later) it was one price.

What was wrong with posting this in any of the other threads on the subject?

I‘m puzzled. First you say NI should have made money by offering these soundpacks to Maschine+ users, before offering them to MPC users.

Then you suggest NI should have offered them for free.

    What now?

    Nothing wrong.

But nothing is wrong even in creating a new thread, maybe more focused on the feeling that decision left to the OP.

At least, on his own thread, no one will accuse him to go off topic or derailing a discussion

@ozon Do I really need to explain?

OK, my first post was in response to the claim that all NI want do is make money. The fact is they did not need to team with Akai to make money. They could make money from us i.e. releasing future content in both standalone and desktop simultaneously for one price, like Akai do.

If NI choose to release desktop and standalone, but individually sold/priced, that won't go down well.

Where would you draw the line? Let's say there were a thousand users who felt snubbed by NI, on just this specific issue, and all wanted their specific voice to be heard. How many threads would be appropriate? 10, 50, 500…1000?

I’m not the one drawing the line.

The line is already well visible when in a thread talking about the NAMM announcement people saying “I feel slapped in the face” could be accused of not staying on topic.

Isn’t it better to open a “Slapped in the face” thread?

About “how many”… well…as many as necessary. A thousand threads are less ignorable than a single thread.

How many threads did NI needed before they stopped telling to some users “it’s just you” about maaaany different problems (NA, installations, not appearing products, loading times,…)?

I understand what you mean, but I’ll bring you one example about a politician who received a letter with a petition signed by 250000 citizens complaining about an injustice.

He didn’t move a single finger.

Then… he started receiving 25 letters a day by the single citizens. 25 the first day, 25, the second day, 25 the third day,…

He didn’t wait 10000 days before correcting the injustice…

(Note that I’m not discussing if OP is right or wrong…just that he felt the need to express his feelings. In a dedicated thread. And that companies need a lot of “proofs” before they move a finger)

I agree with this. If it takes a thousand posts for NI to get their stuff together, I'll gladly read 'em all, and comment on them all if I have to. I am not thrilled about whats going on by any means and they need to not only hear it but feel it. If you are happy you can just go on with your happy threads and be that…just happy. I don't even post in here I just read mostly to see what the pulse is, but this latest news got a lot of us tight and feeling str8 up disregarded as loyal customers to NI & Maschine. Again if you are satisfied, why try to stifle someone who has a legitimate angle to be upset about whats going on? I need answers more than "coming soon" and "we are working on it". 3.0 was mid, now this. Even after 9th Wonder gave this company an alley-oop with his latest Rhythm Roulette episode. One step forward and 3.0 steps backwards. 🤬

There was already another thread in which it was on-topic for people to express their ire. Even in the Namm thread, in which the OP had already posted, it seemed on-topic for people to express their disappointment. The OP wasn't called out. Perhaps you can point to members who were.

This is not a political forum, and this is not about oe person receiving tons of messages. This is a community forum, which is home to many people of many differing opinions. Nobody is saying that contrary opinions should be silenced. However, filling this place with unnecessary repeated threads is inconvenient for many here, not least those who are in charge of keeping this place running properly.

    I can agree…to an extent.

    But…you came here asking a question…and I answered.

Nothing I wrote is political (the politician was just a metaphor).

I’m sorry anyway if my answer didn’t satisfy you

I've not suggested limiting posts, nor have I tried to stifle opinion. I'm just suggesting it needn't occupy multiple threads. You don't care for the general flow of this forum, or consider others' enjoyment of the community to be important, then go ahead and do whatever you want.
